This device functions properly, which is notable for inexpensive bluetooth devices. It has several fatal flaws which cause me to give it 3 stars:

1) The volume always starts at full blast. And you can't lower the volume until sound is playing. So for headphones this device isn't not great. It totally works, but you have to manage the initial too-loud output.
2) You can't control the volume from your phone. The phone bluetooth volume control does nothing. Only the physical buttons on the device can control the volume. Combined with problem #1 this sucks.
3) There is a bit of white noise in the background during playback. The output is silent when connected but not streaming from a smart phone. But when streaming talk radio, there is a noticeable hiss - it's not loud or unusable by any means, but definitely noticeable.

For a car stereo application, this device is very appropriate b/c you can set the volume on the car stereo before it comes out the speakers. Also for headphones with a built in volume wheel this device would be fine.

Battery life is about 4-5 hours of use, which is good. Pairing is easy.

Works great, battery lasts long 5+ hours (I never listen to audio longer then that so I don't know exactly how long this will go), tested it with pc and android no issues - makes any headphones wireless, volume in it can go up very loud, but it has vol buttons.

Hold press the vol button to increase or decrease volume, short press will change tracks prev - next
Play Pause button hold down 5+ secs to power it on / off, short press will play / pause audio, and I think quick double press does something too like enable the mic or end call.

It also has a microphone for hands free talking but I have not tested that feature.

There are alot of models of this device that look similar the one I am reviewing for is LinK-CZBT03

Always remember to keep lithium battery devices charged once the battery goes to zero it will severely damage the battery, this little device has some nice protections in place though, no audio for awhile it will power off , bluetooth closes connection it will turn off....etc

I still charge it after every use though, and you can use it while it charges. I think its worth the price. audio is stereo , clear, no pops or clicks audio sounds like it was plugged directly in, the only issue I ran into was sometimes it gets a delay I don't know if its my pc BT adapter (cheap CSR 4.0 dongle)or BT Stack (tried microsoft, and toshiba, so far I am having good results using the CSR Stack), or this device but I just power it down and re-power up and delay goes away so it might be something to take into consideration if you will use this to watch movies or games.

Can't beat it for the price.

I purchased the item for use in my car. My car stereo has an auxiliary input which is mounted in the glove box. Instead of keeping my phone in the glove box, I purchases with Bluetooth receiver. I turn on the device then turn on my phone Bluetooth and viola, my phone plays through my car’s speakers. The device takes about 5 seconds to turn on and another 5 seconds to pair with the phone. I have the sound quality to when I connected directly with a wire and found no difference. The sound quality is excellent. The device will also turn off automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity. So when you exit the car, it will turn off after 5 minutes and not drain. It is also rechargeable. You just plug in the included USB charging cord and it will charge. I am get 6-8 hours use out of a single charge. I am actually just using my phone charging cord. I even learned that the device will beep once every 10-15 seconds when it needs to be charged. The only downside is that the build quality feels cheap. But then again, it was at only $20. This is probably the best $20 I have spent.

I previously wrote a review about how the frequency response on this unit was terrible; dropping off around 150Hz. I opened it up and discovered that the hardware was up to snuff, and thus the frequency limiting must be software based. I dug a little further and discovered that this unit shows up as two separate bluetooth devices; a "Hands Free" device and a "set of speakers". The default connection for some reason when used with my PC was the hands free device, which has a software imposed voice-bandpass filter on it, accentuating 300-1600Hz, and attenuating low and high frequencies. I manually forced the connection to the second one labeled as "speakers" and the full audio fidelity and amplifier power is available! What a world of difference!

This little receiver kicks out some juice too! It can fully drive my audiophile grade medium impedance (64ohm) headphones with plenty of power and no signs of distortion.

Intent: We have the iPhone 5s and wanted to play music in the car. One way was to use this bluetooth receiver so that we can stream the music to it. We plugged it in and paired it with the iPhone. It was recognized instantly without any problems. We've been using it since October 2014, so 6 months now and it's still working perfectly.

The battery last about 6 hours or so, however, there is the micro USB at the bottom that you can connect directly to a USB/cigar lighter adapter and you don't have to worry about running out of power. It will charge it while it plays your music. It seems to also turn off automatically when not in use, and that's a good feature to preserve battery.

The price is unbeatable for this marvelous device. I would definitely buy more as gifts and recommend to my friends.
