Decent product, horrible customer service.

I have to say, overall I am pleased with the product but really disappointed in the misrepresentation and customer service. I ordered this after getting QuickBooks Pro, which didn't work well for me at all. I went with Sage for the inventory management system they had. I was specifically told this one had the ability to do multiple units of measure, and even in the user manual it had directions on multiple units of measure. This is the main reason why I purchased this. The directions, however, didn't match the product. The product itself has NO MULTIPLE UNITS OF MEASURE. I was pretty upset when I discovered this as I spoke with the Sage representative prior to purchasing. I called Sage again to see why it didn't have what I needed. I was told that this version didn't have it, that the version before did. If I wanted multiple units of measure, I have to purchase Quantum (which is a few thousand dollars) and they consistently tried to upsell me. I was transferred 8 times on the phone over and over, and nothing was solved. I was told I would get a call the following Monday, and no one called me back. I never received another call. I called them a few times after and still nothing had been resolved.

I feel really disappointed with the customer service of this. I think I will use this product for a little bit, but I will probably switch to something else. I hate that I use it now, but I paid money for it and don't want that to go to waste. Overall, Sage 50 Pro is okay, but the customer service is awful. I would not recommend the company.

Avoid this product - 15-year disappointed customer.

I have been a Sage (previously Peachtree Accounting) customer for 15 years. But, I am planning to switch to another software because of the problems with Sage 50 2015. First, I've had trouble with the software since buying the upgrade in August 2014. I think that it does not work with Windows 8. The software will lockup and require that you reboot the software, which is a pain. Second, I am not able to talk to customer support. I've tried calling several times, but I've never been able to talk to anyone. Third, I tried calling Sales to obtain a replacement software or refund. But, sadly, Sales will not honor their product warranty. This product is horrible. There is no customer service. The company's warranty is a joke. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Cannot do payroll without buying an additional annual subscription.

Purchased an upgrade to our Peachtree 2012 that will no longer be supported by Sage (But still worked). This new version requires an annual subscription if you want to run payroll checks. So, your initial cost is $362 (single user software package) plus another $250 for one year of payroll. After one year the charge is $699.00 per year to continue writing payroll checks. You cannot write a payroll check without the annual subscription. We have used Peachtree since 2003 at our CPA's request. This will be the last year if they continue with these charges.

It is absolutely the worst, most frustrating

I have a small bushiness and have used this software for 15 years. It is absolutely the worst, most frustrating, and horribly supported junk I have ever used. I would give it zero stars if at all possible. Today I learned that unless I pay them $800 a year for gold level customer support (which I will never use) then the software will no longer calculate payroll with holding. It is impossible to get the software to do something you want it to do. You have to do everything they way the software demands. I don't know what other options are out there but SAGE 50 is complete garbage.
