The ad says nothing about OPEN BOX or PREVIOUSLY used. This arrived in a previously opened box that was re-sealed. There were no User Manual, Warranty Card, or any documentation of any kind. The DVD player powers up. But the tray will not open. No matter how many times I tried, either via remote or manually pushing the eject button, the DVD player will not open.

I am generally a savvy shopper. When I buy something that is supposed to be NEW, I expect NEW. This group clearly sent me a dvd player that was previously purchased, and; does not work. It remains to be seen if they will ship me a NEW replacement, or issue me a REFUND. At this moment, I am very displeased.

well I have to agree with many reviewers Mine did not work no matter how many times I have tried it. can't even get it to power up. unfortunely the box was thrown away before we tried it. so I guess we are just out of luck. Like others I did expect it work. maybe not be the greatest but at least work some. Cant get to turn on at all . I would not recommend.

Mt onestar reviews are pretty rare, but this player earned it fair and square. I went to Target to buy a DVD player. I wanted it to be HDMI capable, not for any geeky or techy reason, but just because I have multiple devices plugged into my TV and most of them ar enot HDMI connections. They had a Sony there and this model, which was on sale and therefore $15 less than the Sony.

I brought it home and it hooked up easily. I tried it first on brand new DVD sets I had just bought (The Newsroom) and it wouldn't read the first disk. Great, I thought, I bought a bum disk. But I put another disk in and it had trouble with that. It plated one of the episodes but it was noisy and wouldn't let me use other features of the disk. I tried the disks in an older DVD player and they played fine.

And this was with brand new DVDs. I also have some older or homemade ones I want to watch, so I knew those one were out of the question.

This was all on Day 1, so I repacked it int he box, took it back to Target and got the Sony. No problems so far.

Worked for about six dvd's now skips and freezes up and makes a noise like it is straining to run I forgot to thank the sellers of the "NEW" dvd player for the Big Bang Theory dvd that was left inside.

I bought this at Target last year because I wanted an inexpensive DVD player to replace an old one, but this thing hardly works. It's LOUD, you hear all the mechanisms inside and the disc spinning and stopping, etc. It plays DVDs, but only barely. I often have to eject a disc and then re-insert it mid way through the movie because the player stalls. This is an awful product, do not buy it.

Extremely disappointed with this product! Normally I purchase brand name electronics because of quality but bought this DVD player to have in our master bedroom for the occasional movie we might watch. The DVD player worked for about a year (maybe less) then every disk was a "bad disk" and would not play. Strongly suggest you spend an extra $10 and buy a product that will last. Lesson learned - will never purchase a "Capello" product again.
