It is exactly what I needed, as an HDMI cable that goes into USB port since my old laptop does not offer HDMI but display port and my new monitor offers the exact opposite.

There are other, bigger, sexier, docking stations that offers much more connection ports at the same or even lower price. However I doubt I will ever need that many connections. Also due to limited desktop space, my goal is to have a small adapter without the need for a DC power cable. J5 Create offers it all.

It works fine and smooth, the matte build quality is very good.

One final thing to mention is that the USB cable is a bit too short, wish it could be 2 feet instead of 1 foot long.

I would have given it 5-Stars had it come with a power supply. I thought I read that it did NOT need an external power source, and for this reason I was disappointed, but once I connected an external power supply the product worked as intended... utilizing HDMI-to-USB for a 3rd monitor to connect to my iMac mid-2009 model.

There is a slight lag when moving "windows" like Safari, or Opera from the iMac screen to my ASUS 42" monitor... but otherwise it accomplishes what I need for productivity as a writer.
