I don't normally do reviews, but this just has to be told. This is one tough tractor! When a group of adults marvel at a toy it must be worth a few words.

So, this was a birthday present for my 7 yr old grandson. We were camping at a lake and it was opened with great excitement, along with two other RC's for the other grandsons (birthdays close in dates). Within seconds all three vehicles were whizzing around the campsite, which happened to back up against the lake. There was an extremely steep embankment trailing down to the water. The tractor took off on it's own made the leap over the edge and proceeded to bounce (big tires) and twirl like a violent circus act. This went on for 5-10 seconds- what seemed like a nightmare in slow motion. The total distance had to have been 250 feet of continual bouncing a somersaults. The finally was a spectacular dive into the water, like a brick on fat wheels. (We won't even go into the distress from the grandson.)

After a dangerous climb down and back up the shoreline, the tractor was examined. The battery cover had flown off, but other than that there was no damage! Totally amazing. It would not run at this point, but with water dripping out of the body that came as no surprise.

We disconnected the battery and let it sit for two days to rest from the trauma. There was little or no hope of it ever running again. To utter amazement it came to life!

Make note: Another RC in the group of three had a similar radio frequency - thus the run away. It was actually being run by another controller within a few feet.

This tractor has no gradual throttle. It is off or full on.

Maybe these note might be of help to someone else.

We have very rough terrain and a lot of dirt. Most remote control vehicles cant withstand where we live. This machine is amazing for outdoor use. Very difficult for my 5 year old to control indoors because of the amount of power it has.

I would recommend this remote control tractor for anyone 8 and older. My 12 year old has spent hours enjoying it. It does need plenty of space to get moving. Great tricks and not difficult to preform.

We bought this tractor for our son on his 7th birthday. After using it for a short time the screw holding the axle together came out and would not stay together after that. We contacted Amazon and returned the tractor in September. We have not heard from anyone since then...it is now November. We really just wanted the tractor replaced as our son loved it. Very disappointed with customer service during this experience.

My three old grandson loved his new John Deere Monster Tread. The controls were easy for him to use. The only thing I would recommend is having a spare battery for the Tractor. He has been able to use it for about one hour straight without a charge. Great RC toy!!

This tractor is big, fast, fun, and the kids love it. The quality is way ahead of most other $20-$50 rc toys that break after only one week. The only problem is the remote control only works to about 50' and then it loses reception and stops working. The tractor actually goes so fast, it's somewhat difficult to keep it within 50' so it is a great toy if you don't mind running after it to keep it within range. I was expecting it to go closer to 100'. So far the kids don't mind chasing it with the remote.
