We have twelve trees around the property (Texas Ebony, Polo Verde, Palm and Tipu) where various types of birds nest. The birds frequently slam into our vaulted ceiling windows located on three sides of the house, usually a couple times a week. Fortunately, none have been injured and/or died after slamming into the windows. When the opportunity to try the “Bird’s Eye View Window Deflector” film, the order was placed. Following specific pictorial instructions the translucent window film squares were applied. For those like me not familiar with the term “dichrolic glass effect” ( showing different colors when viewed from different directions, or more generally having different absorption coefficients for light polarized in different directions). Suggest following the application instructions to the letter for a neat/clean job. So far, to our surprise - no bird strikes after applying the deflectors on each side.

Great Product! Each order comes with four deflector sheets that are easy to apply. I have an atrium window in my kitchen and my yard along with my closest neighbor's have multiple large trees, providing us with delightful shade, birds, squirrels and other critters. In the past, I have placed quite a few colorfully dynamic geegaws on the ledges within the window, which eliminated the number of bird crashes, yet at night when the light is on they occasionally still hit the glass.

I used three for the window but can't be certain that they eliminated crashes as of yet, however, the last one, I placed on the sliding glass door to the outside for my 4 legged buddy. With Florida heat approaching 100 degrees for nearly a month now, I close the door to retain the A/C inside, this has prevented him from having crashes into the door! The past thuds sent me into a nauseous cringe! I highly recommend these deflectors for whatever creatures you need to alert!

Note: This review is a repeat. I ordered these and the clear version from Artscape and received two clear packages instead of one of each. Since they appear to be identical except for color and in reading reviews of the blue/yellow version they both seem to work identically, both review are identical.

Lately, we've had robins tapping our windows during their nesting season. They fly up to the windows and tap on them with their beaks in order to defend their territory from other robins (their reflections, in this case). They leave all kinds of marks on our windows, they crap all over our patios and decks, and the noise drives us nuts.

These Artscape window 'decals' (they're applied like decals but they aren't permanent and are very easy to remove and place elsewhere) are not only functional but decorative. They prevent the birds from seeing their reflection, this from the prisms of the etched effect in the design. I've placed one decal on each window in a row of windows that seem to be their favorite targets (in a staggered pattern rather than at the same level on each) and the decals appear to be working. At last, I can keep our patios and decks clean, clean windows, and have some peace!

If birds are giving you this or similar problems, these Artscape decals are an effective and humane deterrent to natural behavior and are an inexpensive solution. I recommend them!

This was not quite what I expected, but I am fairly happy with the product. I thought that this would be just one large sheet of plastic that would stick to the center part of a window and help birds to not fly into the window. We have several bird feeders and their flying into windows has been an issue.

What you receive is six (6) 4 by 4 inch squares of plastic Bird's EyeView Window Film. Follow the directions on how to place them on your window. The film comes backed by a harder plastic that you have to remove. There IS NO adhesive to the window film and YOU SHOULD NOT apply any adhesive to the film, follow the directions and just wet the surface of the window (after cleaning) and place the squares on the wet surface and then squeegee them to make sure the are flat.

After following the directions I have waited for a bird to hit the glass. In the week that I have had these up the birds have not flown into the glass that they are on, but they have flow into other windows (thus I am going to buy more of these deflectors).

I am amazed at how well these work. I guess their description is accurate in declaring that birds see a different UV light than we humans do, so these deflectors make the surface of your window more reflective for the birds and they know to turn away.

I am very happy with how well these work.

My home has high ceilings and high half-moon windows over the traditional square windows. To my knowledge the birds have never done a kamikaze dive into the square windows but they bounce off the half-moon windows frequently. I can't count the number of either stunned or dead birds I find in my front yard over the years. We also have one bird who refuses to accept that he can't peck his way into the house; he'll spend hours on the windowsill trying to figure it out and pecking at the glass. It's cute at first, but it gets annoying very quickly and it makes the dog nuts.

In the past there wasn't much I did to deter the birds from flying into the windows. I read about all sorts of solutions but putting up shutters or hanging parachute cord vertically every six inches or so wasn't affordable or appealing. Still, it broke my heart a little every time I heard one hit. For the bird that pecks at the window trying to get in I'd wave my arms from the inside and he'd fly away for awhile but return within hours.

When I was offered this film I figured I didn't have much to lose so I pulled out the ladder and installed them according to the instructions. It was quite easy; simply pull the film off the back, wet the window, place the film and use a squeegee to remove the excess water.

It's hard to tell if the film is deterring birds from flying into the window. It's not like it happened on any kind of a regular schedule. But, I did place one of the squares in the area where the one bird was visiting and I saw him fly to the spot, look around a bit and flew off. I haven't seen him in almost a week. I hope he's happy and found a mate and they live happily every after.

If bird strikes continue to be a problem I'll update this review but so far so good.
