Love the CD and highly recommend it to all Blackhawk or country music fans! I will give the following words of advice: The physical copy does NOT HAVE all the songs you see in the MP3 version. There are 4 additional songs only available on MP3: "A Little Rain", Chameleon's All-Star Love Band", "Mama Who's Gonna Rock", and "Waiting to Be Found". Also, be aware that all of the songs on the physical CD were previously released on albums which were only available through Blackhawk's site, the Fan Club CD a few years ago and "Down From the Mountain", and two tracks from "Spirit Dancer". For most people who have never heard those albums, this will be a treat and well worth the purchase. For die-hard fans who already have those, this may be a bit anticlimactic. Either way...hooray for more Blackhawk!

Awesome compilation of unreleased BlackHawk material over the years. The band has been flying under the radar for a while, glad to finally see a major release from them (their first since 2002). Definitely worth it for any fan of 90's country.

This is a fantastic album! Every song is an instant classic and it's great to hear Van's voice/guitar skills again! Henry's voice is as strong as ever, as is Dave's. The music brings you home wherever you are. I had heard a few of the songs on their independent release of "Down from the Mountain," so much of the album was familiar. However, besides that, every song that was new to my ears put a smile on my face. It's catchy, it's melodic, it's graceful: it's country music at its finest. The group also does a fantastic job of covering Sister Hazel's "Champagne High," doing it justice. As I said before, just close your eyes while listening to "That's What I'm Talkin About," "Wide Open Spaces," "Baby the Rain Must Fall," or "Down from the Mountain," and you'll feel like you're taken away from the city and into in the country. If you live in the country, it feels like you've gone home. Highly recommended. Kudos, BlackHawk for yet another amazing album.

I've loved Blackhawk since 1995 when I first heard, "Goodbye Says it All", and this was before I gave in and admitted I was a country fan. I own all of their CDs and have seen them live 11 times.
This review might be a bit biased. 😎
Not only do these songs represent some of their best material in years, but I believe what makes Blackhawk amazing is the whine of Henry Paul. His voice still sounds and feels like what country is supposed to be. "Chameleon's All Star Band," and "Who's Gonna Rock Ya," are perfect examples. I was one day playing "Baby the Rain Must Fall," before class began and before the bell rang, my students were singing along. "Down from the Mountain," is modern with a fantastic message (with a reference to their first album, I suggest). But, "Brighter," remains as one of the most played songs in my iTunes.
You're going to love this album.

The long awaited /anticipated BlackHawk Album; BROTHERS OF THE SOUTHLAND was released on Tuesday July 8, 2014. I, for one was really excited! So far I have heard the CD four times and I really love the Album! The Album is reminiscent of their older Albums but there is a freshness to it with the Vocals and Harmonies!! Even though Van Stephenson died of Melanoma (Skin Cancer) in April of 2001 the Album feels like he is still with them. There are three new Songs on the Album that he participated in before he died! I like every song on this Album because these Songs have the same feeling in them that I get when I listen to their previous Music! Henry's voice gives me shivers on their Song "Voices"!! One of their older Songs is: "Heart With A View" and it really resonates with me! This is the first Studio Album that they have done in a decade and I am glad they continue to soldier on! Every Song is a treasure in my opinion! I think if you liked the Country Rock sounds of BLACKHAWK then I think you will not be disappointed in this new Album!! I know I certainly love this Album!!

BlackHawk is my favorite country artist, and it is great to have new music after so much time! It's what you expect from BlackHawk, and a nice addition to their discography. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 stars is because of how great many of their iconic songs are from the past. For a different artist, this is probably 5 star work, but their own classically high standards force me to mark it a bit below some of their other work.

It's been way too long! The band that brought you Goodbye Says It All & Every Once In A While is back! BlackHawk is without a doubt the best country band of it's kind, of all time! This is an excellent album! Henry & Dave sound great, and it's so awesome to hear Van's voice on 3 songs on the CD. This is highly recommended for anyone that loves BlackHawk, and anyone who loves music with a 90's country feel.
