Pro's
1) Powerful CPU and GPU
2) Came with Haswell i7-4700HQ(some people lucky enough to get 4710)
3) Budget laptop.
4) When i bought, it was 50$ less than Lenovo and had no tax.
5) Single stick 8GB, instead of two 4GB sticks for most people. (See point 8 in cons why i got singly stick)
6) Stays cool even after heavy hours of gaming.

Con's
1) Screen. Dont place anyother laptop or tab next to this laptop screen. Then you will really hate this PC
2) Crappy wifi card. I got Intel 3610. May be AC7260 is better.(still happy, as i did not get the realtek or atheros - crappy wifi card like others)
3) You can easily have fingerprint marks all over the Laptop to mark your territory.
4) Crappy HDD - Power house of this laptop will be bottlenecked by the 1TB HDD which is slow and OS load times will take for ever.
5) Bloatware of Lenovo is attrocious. I hate the inbuilt apps, which is of no use to you. Except the Battery manager(Conservation mode - Use it when playing games or if you plug your lappy to power source most of the time. Else your battery will go Kaput)
6) Removing the backcover is a pain. I sufferred a lot before replacing the HDD with SSD.
7) Crappy trackpad
8) With weeks of buying the memory module got corrupted and had to be replaced completely(RAM gone Kaput). Which lead to lots of bluescreen errors and had to send back to lenovo for Service.
9) Lenovo customer service is crappy has hell. I mentioned them clearly my RAM was not working. It took more than a month to figure out RAM was problem. Initially they wanted to replace the HDD which if they did would have been a dumb move.
10) Customer service team must be from philipines i guess.

Perhaps I was unlucky with my purchase, but because of it I am never buying a Lenovo product again. 3 months into use and it suddenly makes very audible clicking noises and Windows freezes each time it happened. Once it froze completely after 2 days the clicking happened and it switched itself off. After trying to reboot it, the SSD fails and has to be replaced. Funnily enough it died so soon that once I sent it back to Lenovo for a replacement, got it back and the problem persisted 3 months afterwards, I still have my warranty! Well guess what, I'm not fixing this again because I don't want to have a laptop I can't rely on. Don't get this laptop. It's incredibly powerful considering its price, but that amount of money is not worth the risk of it dying on you at potentially crucial moments when you need it badly.

Pros: The computer is lighting-fast, the design is sleek, and keyboard is well-spaced/comfortable. The 1080p screen is good, although not fantastic. The cost is reasonable for an entry level gaming computer with decent RAM and a dedicated graphics card.

Cons: The track pad is terrible. You'll have to use a mouse for anything more than casual browsing/email.

Disclaimer: I've never rated ANYTHING with less than 3 stars in my life. I'm a very optimistic person, and I rarely complain about the products I buy.

Purchased this at Best Buy in Summer of 2015. Within 6 weeks, I had to send it into warranty service because my screen simply stopped working altogether. After about 2 months, they FINALLY sent it back to me (despite being at the "highest" level of urgency, it still took nearly 8 weeks to get it turned around after they received it). The screen works fine, but throughout the whole experience, the track-pad has been the bane of it all. It just sucks. For starters, it doesn't work. Yeah, when I press the hard click button, it just sits there and does nothing. So I press harder. Eventually when I slam my finger into it to the point of inducing pain, it *sometimes* registers a click. Now, picture me trying to select text using the trackpad! It isn't possible. If I get lucky enough for it to register the left click button held down, it usually forgets about halfway through my text selection and unselects what I've already selected. Note that the same text selection issue occurs using a USB mouse, and my drivers are up to date.

This week I finally disabled caching (i.e. the SSD portion of the storage) because it was making my computer run so slowly! I would try to open a word document and it would take no less than 1 minute. The task manager indicated that the disk usage was at 95-100% ALL of the time, even after leaving the computer running and IDLE for an hour, it would continue to do this. After disabling the caching, it sped it up some. I considered replacing the SSHD with a SSD, but the abysmal track-pad has given me enough reason not to.

I wish I had bought something different. I bought this machine in particular to do some intense calculations, some video and image work, and some gaming. Although I would not recommend this machine, it does have some benefits including the great sound (the best feature of this machine), it is a fairly solid built machine (although quite heavy), and the back likt keyboard is a nice touch (although I wish it came in colors other than sith red). Also the guts of this computer are descent and worked well with what I have put it through, for the most part. This computer often gets harped on for the quality of the display, and reasonably so, however it is not as major of an issue and I doubt that the majority of people would notice. Really it is just a bit duller than a typical monitor and can be replaced.

With all these aside, there are a few major minor issues that have caused me to return to my using my old Toshiba and only use this machine to act as an expensive DVD player, which is funny as I had to buy an external DVD player to do this and the video playback becomes pixelated every now and then, regardless if I am playing a DVD or a movie on my computer. Now what I hate most about this computer is the mouse pad. It is way too large and I keep accidentally tapping it, which brings up my side screen or the start window and takes me away from what I was working on. Sounds like a minor issue, but it happens so often that this is the main reason I have gone back to using my old computer. In addition as the mouse pad is not broken up in to a pad and buttons attempting to click on something also takes a lot more effort than should be needed, and I often end up resizing the screen or selecting something besides what I was trying to select.
