I believe the 5 star reviews are fake. This is an awful product. It's very hard to open and shut and the best I can do it *sort of* get it on and twisted a little bit, which isn't totally locked and therefore I can't use the plastic cap for travel since it has to be fully locked for the lid to snap on properly The opening to the mesh is too small for a 2 inch piece of banana. And the reviews that said it was easy to clean? Totally fake. It's a nightmare to clean. Yes you can take the pieces apart but getting banana out of the mesh is most certainly not easy. You have to hand pick each little bit out of the net. I would send this back, but I only paid a few dollars and it's not worth my hassle. I can't compare this to other mesh feeders, as this is my first. Surely they can't get worse!

My daughter started eating oranges from this at 6 months old and she loves it. We use it about weekly. It also doubles as a teether. Some say it is hard to open and close. It is a bit tough, so for you grandparents with arthritis, you may have a hard time. It just takes a pit of patience. Otherwise I found it to be a very sturdy product. As far as the mesh netting goes, I have had no discoloration on mine after 3 months of use it still looks new. I boil my daughters bottles and I just dip the mesh in the boiling water. They do make replacement netting if your concerned about the coloring.

Mesh feeders are great for those foods that are just too hard for babies to hold. We're doing BLW and I like being able to let him go to town on soft slippery foods. My only complaint is that it's pretty hard to open, especially when it's covered in juice and baby slobber. It is made well enough to be easily cleaned without food getting trapped in weird places.

I was really disappointed with this feeder. I previously had the Munchkin feeder but liked the idea of having a top for my feeder and the price was right so I purchased this one. Boy was I wrong. Unlike the munchkin, which is all one piece, this thing is 3 separate pieces. I really don't think it makes it any easier to clean this way. Rather, it makes it a huge pain to reposition the handle piece with the mesh and screw that the mesh goes into. In addition to that, the clear plastic top, the one thing I was 100% sold on with buying this product, did not stay snapped in. It would not click on and would pop off by even the slightest jostle. So both of the tops were lost almost immediately.
The mesh itself is white when it arrives, but it quickly gets stained by berries or anything else you put in there. I washed and boiled this thing after all four times I used it and couldn't get the dark berry stains out of it.

I had a similar mesh feeder when my first two were older, and liked it a lot (pretty sure it was a munchkin) but wanted to be able to cover the mesh for transport, so I ordered this one. Big mistake! This thing is SO hard to open!!! I never had trouble with a baby opening my old one, but my knuckles actually hurt when I try to open this without a gripper pad! I'm 30, and I don't think I have either a weak grip or arthritis. This is just WAY too "childproof" for even a capable adult. Plus, the mesh is a pain to clean.

The hassle of cleaning really defeats the convenience factor, IMO. Will not bother getting another mesh feeder since picking up small bits of food is good for her find motor skills anyway. Note that I do like the munchkin feeder that looks like a pacifier with a slit cut in the tip - it's perfect for pureed food at the early stages when she didn't eat as much or as quickly. Capacity on that one is small, though, so it requires frequent refills for hearty appetites. Still, I'm a fan of anything that keeps her happy while I can use both of my hands!!

I'm so annoyed with the Nuby brand right now that I just took a vow to never buy this brand again. I bought a Nuby nibbler and I couldn't for the life of me get that thing open. I tried everything and kept the package planning to return it for a refund. Finally after a few weeks I try again and finally got it apart and decided to keep it but I just don't tighten it all the way closed so I can get it off again(unfortunately this technique does not work with the Nuby bottle brush).

After I bought the Nuby Nibbler, I bought the Nuby bottle brush with the nipple brush "conveniently" stored in the handle. NO. Not conveniently. I tried very hard to get the nipple brush off. No luck. I got some needle nose pliers and that didn't help then I used the pliers while they are in the closed position to insert through the hole in the nipple brush handle to get it off with all my might. Wow! What a joke. Then I showed it to my husband. He is unable to open it even once and that's after I have already taken it off and put it back on twice. I have never in my life not been able to open something that was designed to be simply opened.

Worst baby item I have ever bought! It is a total waste of money. It is very hard to clean, and after first use (put banana inside it), the cloth turned dark colour and I keep trying to clean all the banana pieces out and after 4 times of washing it like a crazy mad woman, I still have pieces left. I am not going to bother with it any more and since food can stick to it that means mold will form on it even if we can't see it. If you were wondering, I did wash it right away after first use which lasted few mins because of the mess that it was creating and the baby got frustrated trying to get the mashed banana out.
