This little keyboard is just so much fun. It is pretty jam packed with features. First what I think is the most exciting is the microphone and record option. Kids can record their music or their voice or both together and play it back. You can also either do freestyle play or follow along. Follow along the keyboard will light up where you need to press the keys.

The keyboard itself is very nice. you have a couple of different options on the keyboard besides piano. There is saxophone, violin, steel drum, trombone and alien. There are also several different classic kids songs but done to different styles. For example Bingo has a techno vibe and she'll be coming around the mountain has a hip hop vibe. There are also 4 different sound effects 1 is a drum, one a cymbal, one is a guitar shred and one sounds like you are a dj scratching a record.

I think this is a great fun toy to explore music or a kid who just wants to have fun banging out some noise. The best thing is you can even volume control the keyboard and microphone.

This complex looking toy is one of the coolest toys I've seen in a long, long time. It plays all kinds of tricks with sound, and would be wonderful for a child aged two and up. VTech made some of my daughter's favorite toys when she was growing up, and I'm glad to see that they're still at it. This 'Record and Learn' Studio lets children record their own noises, giggles, speech, or songs and then lets them do all sorts of silly things with the recording, just like a Real record studio!

I dare any parent to get this and leave it alone. Everyone in the family is gong to want to play with this one, at least once. It's a great gift for families with a couple of little kids, because almost any kid will love playing with this one. (and it's fun to see them learn and explore sound)

My kids love music. We've had simple piano type toys in the past, but never one with all the features the Record and Learn KidiStudio has, so I was excited to be given a sample to review in exchange for my opinions. I love the microphone and the way they can change their voice. While this toy is intended for the preschool set, even my older kids enjoyed the voice changer and special “sound effects” buttons. My kids were laughing hysterically at themselves and each other with the voice changer. They had a hard time resisting the urge to change the way they were singing along with it. (My teenagers have been playing with it for over an hour without any little kids around.) They also liked the “alien” instrument. You have to be fairly close to the microphone to be picked up, so it didn't pick up background noise. My kids were already familiar with quite a few of the songs, but for the ones they weren't the lyrics were in the user guide. There were lots of songs (20) and the toy never sings the words. The sliders to change the volume, voice changer, and tempo seem a little fragile, especially the tempo slider, but the piano keys and everything else seem very well made. The volume button is fully accessible and easy to adjust by the kids, so I found myself asking them to turn it down at times (on loud, it is quite loud). This is a toy that I see my little kids using a lot as it was intended and my big kids finding reasons to play along with them and be silly.

My daughter is 3 and loves music so I thought this would be a great gift for her. The kidistudio is easy enough for my 3 year old to use and like it. She loves playing on the piano part more then anything. Now my 4 year old and my 10 year old, yea my 10 year old, like everything with it. My kids love being able to record on it and change the sound of their voices with the microphone. I like how the volume is easy to adjust because they can get loud on it. I didn't know if this would be something my 3 year old would like but it was a winner with all my kids. A week later and they are still playing on it every day and the batteries that came with it are still working, so shouldn't be an endless battery changing machine. My younger kids aren't exactly easy on toys at times and they have carried this thing by the microphone/dropped it and everything still works as good as the day I got it.

This VTech Record and Learn KidiStudio Play Toy is an awesome musical play set that any child would love to have. The 3-year old we got this for played with it for over an hour before taking a break and has gone back to it often.

The unit is self contained and has a so many activities that I'm not sure we have tried them all, even after a few days or using it. The studio has a built-in keyboard, microphone, "scratch pad", and sound effects. The recording capability is fun, but the "live" music effects are the most fun for the children.

This is a very entertaining toy that will keep kids engaged and will help develop creativity.

Highly Recommended!

Toddlers and babies LOVE this toy. As a grandparent, it is hard to find toys for the grand babies. This one seems to entertain them all. From the barely crawling baby, to the older toddler, they get on here for hours. This things has lots of lights, lots of buttons, and lots of sounds. With the volume control, I can watch them for hours. Right out of the box, you throw in the batteries, and it is ready to go. The voice changer seems to be the funniest feature for the kids. The microphone works, the mixer works, and they seem to really enjoy hearing themselves singing back. The best feature about this toy is its durability. My grand kids have toted this toy to every room, outside, dropped it, stepped on it, and of course, chewed on it. Over a year, and it still needs nothing more than fresh batteries.
