I work as a DJ and lighting technician in a small local club. Our operation is pretty small and pretty low budget, so expensive DMX lighting and controls were pretty much out of the question. Instead I've managed to put together a pretty decent set of plug-and-play lights, that work well and the crowd seems to like.
The thing about plug-and-play DJ lights is the most don't have an onboard power switch, and even if they did, they're usually mounted out of reach. Enter this device. I mount it to the vertical shaft of the lighting stand, and its a convenient way to power all the effects and have a simple way of controlling them individually.
Perfect for my application.

It seems like everything today needs an outlet and a charger or power supply. Cell phones, lap tops, IPADs, cameras, etc, etc. I was always faced with the problem of where to plug all these devices in and then unplug when not needed. This power strip absolutely solves the problem and provides not only 6 outlets, but with each being switchable, turning individual chargers on or off is a breeze. I bought two and use one for modem, wireless router, print server, PC, monitor. Makes shutting down and restarting the entire system very easy. Also, a very well made product.

I bought this so I can selectively turn on various audio, video or game accessories. I wanted an outlet strip with individual switches and this Rosewill Power Strip fit my needs. It is really inexpensive yet appears to be well made. Because the outlets are oriented east-west, I can install the power packs for some of the equipment without covering up the next outlet. This is a really good idea to save electricity when you have a lot of accessories but only use them infrequently. With the individual outlet switches, you can turn them off and on only when needed.

While otherwise satisfied with this product, when I went to hang it on the wall, I found that the wall mount holes on the back are slotted only one way, so that it can only be mounted vertically with the power cord coming out of the top. It seems obvious to me that the proper vertical orientation should be the other way, with the power cord coming out of the bottom. And what if you wanted to mount it horizontally? I fixed it myself by cutting new hanging slots with my Dremel tool, but the thing should have been designed with 2-way slots at the very least, and preferably 4-way slots to allow for horizontal mounting. I have other power strips made that way, so I know it's possible.

Simply works and is not too large and not too expensive.

I picked them up to use with reef aquariums with a lot of equipment I occasionally turn on and off for routine servicing - I placed them behind the one side of the aquarium stand where they can be easily reached when needed - could also be placed inside a stand.

So far no issues after a few months.

Bought this for my office' Green Committee. I heard a few of them complaining about "phantom electronics" one day during my lunch break and between rolling my eyes because a) its an office building not your home b) none of the employees pay the bills here, c) the bill is static at our office (I checked with our fiscal person) so regardless of how much energy we use/don't use we don't see a cost difference, and d) to just shut them up and make them happy, I went ahead and ordered it and presented it to them.

We have it set up in our shared kitchen/break room with things like the microwave, toaster, toaster oven, etc. plugged into it. There was a big hoopla to the staff from the Green Committee about turning the switch off to power the various electronics due to phantom power draw etc. and it all lasted about a week before people started complaining about how annoying it was that the clock on the microwave was constantly flashing, or wrong, or how they forgot to turn it on, and it took 5 mins to figure out what the issue was etc. that now everything is just left in the on position.

Bottom line, this product works, and it works well. Just depends on what you intend to use it for, and what your expectations are. As far as my sliver of effort to help save mother earth, I guess I have failed. You might catch a little bit of sarcasm in this review, but seriously the product works well.

UPDATE UPDATE- 2 months after rec'd, 1 led light flickering already...oops, light disappeared ! / Great price for individual lighted switches for 6 outlets, plus long power strip cord. Using ALL to switch on/off otherwise hard to get at things. WOW, so much better than on/off switch for entire strip, as most strips are. Now that I have this strip, eliminated 2-3 6-foot extension cords....and they did not accept 3 prong plugs. Spacing is good between outlets, so oversize plugs fit fine next to each other. Many strips have close socket spacing, so check for that with others. I'm controlling lamp out of reach from my computer table, which has also its' switch which I leave on. Also controls computer power supply on one computer that creates bad noise in my ham equipment, so can switch on/off without unplugging supply. One switches off a small fan that cools 2 more computers when using, that is impossible to unplug otherwise. One is on/off for old tv, where remote works, except power button. One for 2 outside cameras, so turn off power supply when not using cameras..to give relief as supply gets warm if on 24 hrs/day. Another switches some motion sensor alerts off at night, where not needed, allowing night sleep...except for 1 always on. Another power strip handles 6 always on devices--plus running 2-3 more 3 outlet extension cords that are always on. A nightmare of cords, etc., although most devices are very low amperage draws...not overpowering any amperage limits on cords, adapters, & sockets. Ha ha, same area has some 2 doz. audio cables intermixed...yes, things get quite tangled up ! Anyway, have everything working fine, until I need to trace a wire. This switched strip really helped a lot. You think about it...will individual on/off switches be better than 1 switch per strip. Most ordinary power strips are about this price, too !
