Many years ago I had used standard bleach for a while on my sheets and pillow cases and the results were very disappointing. Over time they become yellowed or grayish--not at all what I had expected. A few months ago I bought a trial bag of the Tide whitener and was shocked to see a real difference even though they'd been less than white for many, many years. I compared the treated linens to the new whites and the untreated off-color whites after washing and the improvement was very noticeable. Not quite back to white white (which is what I prefer) but much, much better than what they were--and that was with ONE washing. Even some old ink stains were noticeably lighter (and it is not advertised as a stain remover). I cannot afford to purchases expensive products that offer only a marginal effect--the difference in my results after one washing were enough that I definitely plan on buying again. If it worked that well with one washing, I can only hope that they will continue to brighten with continued use.

I live in an area where the water is exceptionally hard, and getting clothes clean and bright can be quite the chore. Or it would be a chore, if not for today's addatitives that lighten the load and make clothes look new in the wash.
I have a friend who lives on a ranch in the hills and has little access to a washer and dryer. When she visits, she brings along the clothes she and her husband use on the ranch and gives them a good washing while here. Between my grubby gardening clothing and her unbeliveably dirty ranch clothing, the washer gets a good workout.
I had put some muddy, dirty, grubby stuff in to soak on the soak cycle and added Tide Boost to the soak. Amazingly, all the dirt came out and when the clothes went through the regular cycle after soaking, the water was hardly dirty. Since I had let those clothes sit around because I did not want to deal with them, I was pleased as punch. (I am not a big fan of house work!)
Then my ranching friends showed up with two months of clothes that had been worn and then tossed in the hamper to sit. UGH. My friend added Tide Boost to both the soak, and also to the wash cycle (a total of two tabs per load) and her grimey clothing looked totally presentable!
We were both amazed.
So, this Tide Boost works for Whites And Colors and can brighten up the dirtiest of clothing. I am sold on it and plan to keep using it. If you had any doubts, put them away and order up some Tide Boost. I also recommend SHOUT as it will keep colors from bleeding onto one another, as sometimes occurs when clothes go through more than one cycle while being washed!!Shout Wipes Plus Stain Treater Towelettes- Case of 80

Everyone has their laundry routine that works. If they're lucky. My laundry is sad without the Tide boost! There's such a significant difference in the brightness our laundry comes out with with Tide boost. I put this on our auto ship order because it's a must!

Seems to work better than liquid bleach. I have used this for cotton, linen and polyester along with Tide detergent pacs and they came out looking bright and smelled nice. I used it for white and colored clothes and it worked well for both.

This product, like most Tide products, works very well. Upon receiving our shipment, however, we found a sticky substance all over this and every other item in our package, only to discover that the item had been previously opened and 2 pods had been used from the package. Unfortunately, we were on vacation and had sent the items to our destination, with no means of replacing, so we had to use as is, but disappointed experience from Amazon.
