Better than my Mophie

The product is really good. I have used Mophie for years and decided to give the Alpatronix a try and I am really glad I did because I like it much better. I am very critical of extended life batteries and I need extra battery everyday. The design is sleek, has easy on/off button with battery level readout (so I know how much I have left), feels good in my hand, is not too heavy and feels more like a "case" that I can leave on my phone all the time and not feel as if I am lugging a big battery around. I have found the best way to use it is to fully charge your phone and Alpatronix and leave the Alpa off. When my phone battery get to about 20% I turn on the Alpa and charge the phone battery back up to about 85% (just before the trickle charge begins) and turn it off to save the rest for later. Also, it's less expensive than the Mophie and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Fits iphone 5C

I have had this for about a week now and it has been working well for me. When charging, if attached to your phone, it will charge your phone first. I have an iPhone 5C and it fits well. Included is an audio jack cable which has a tight fit, but works. Also, they have a 1 year warranty when you register your product on their website.

Very happy!

After using this a couple weeks I'm really happy with it. It does add some bulk to my phone but the trade-off is fine for no dead battery! The iPhone does show an error at times: "this accessory is not recognized" but that does NOT mean it isn't charging!! It totally works all the time! Apple just doesn't like us using any non-apple accessories ;-)

The color matches the Apple pink phone perfectly. The buttons all work. The plug port allows me to use any micro-usb cord which is convenient. The charging mode works fast. The case removes and installs easily so I can use the phone's lightening port to import all my pics to computer quickly.

The battery does get a bit warm when charging but you don't have to leave it on too long so no big deal. The case does cause a pink shade on pics taken with flash but I almost never use the flash anyway. Again no big deal.

Very happy with this product.

We all know the iPhone battery is not that good. This case helps negate that. I have it fully charged with the phone the night before, I am able to have the phone last all day and night without dieing! It is not too bulky and looks great too. Does not fit the iPhone 5/5S well. 5C is OK.

I purchased a couple of these to use with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

They fit the 5C well but the 5S is loose inside of the case. I would advise against buying this for your iPhone 5/5S.

Other than the fitment issue the case isn't bad! Very good for the price and is built well. One thing I don't like about the case is that the switch is just a momentary push button not a sliding switch which I prefer.

So very uncool

I'm so torn because Alpatronix has such great customer service that I wanted very badly to love this case. I contacted them about my order being slightly incorrect and the issue was resolved swiftly and courteously. Sadly I don't love this case. I don't even like it all that much!
First off, it's big and bulky. My sleek pocket friendly phone morphed into a brick.
Second, when using the charge function of the case the phone gets hot. This concerns me as overheating could lead to electrical or physical failure of internal components of and render my phone useless (this happened with my Galaxy phone which is why I now have the iPhone).
Third, the recharge action is finicky. Certain cables and plugs don't work. Well... they charge the case but my phone won't. This could very well be an Apple issue since the case uses the micro USB instead of lightning cables. Yes BTW it uses "Android" charger. And I MAY be able to get a full charge if my phone battery is not below say 25%. I generally begin charging when my battery reaches the 30s. I don't like that because if I make that a trend it could possible cause the battery to die quicker by not fully discharging before being recharged.

My biggest issue is that my PHONE SCREEN BROKE. Again this may be an iPhone thing but this is the first time since I've had a smartphone that my screen broke - especially considering it was in the case. I know that falling 3 feet onto concrete can and will decimate the glass especially if it isn't protected but dangit I had my phone in the case. But it broke. Maybe it was because when the phone hit the ground the case popped open causing my phone to impact the ground twice in the same fall. I don't know.Read more ›

It is so nice to have a boost when needed

It is so nice to have a boost when needed. We all know how those iPhone batteries start losing their brilliance way too soon. I'm reminds me of Rutger Hauer's death scene in Blade Runner. The white dove flies and your iPhone is dead. I can get through a day with this extra boost most of the time -- but not without it. The little flip out stand -- just forget about that. It'll break so don't buy this if you are looking for a reliable way to prop up your phone to watch vids. There was another brand of these that I did have that wasn't as good. Not sure I actually did a review of that one sorry. But if I have to replace I'm-a-gonna replace with this baby. Don't expect a long power cord btw. It is short (~30"). I've got big hands so the extra heft and size don't bother me -- in fact I like it vs the iPhone 5s which is really kind of small. Level setting is important. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe -- attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion." What else -- it feels good from a tactile POV. 4 stars for short power cord (USB) and stupid kick stand.
