As a musician and sound engineer, I'm always looking for systems to listen to things that are recorded on in my studio. At the price I purchased this item at I felt that I couldn't go wrong. While the packaging was somewhat sparse, there was no damage to the item which is extremely light weight. It was very easy to set up; however, I wouldn't call this a boom box but rather a bookcase stereo as the speakers are not attached (speakers are a little front heavy too so if you touch them they can fall over).

The first thing I noticed is that this sucker is LOUD. It can really fill up a room. The second thing that I noticed is that it is really bass/mid-range heavy. The highs are very muted (listened to Count Basie and could barely hear the ride cymbal). The EQ is all preset so there's no adjusting the Highs, there is, however, a Football button (?) that drops the bass and delivers mid and highs - to say the least weird (think car radio or clock radio). The button placement for the unit and remote you'll have to get used to but overall decent unit. Blue tooth was easy to set up and the USB ran a thumb drive filled with MP3s without issue.

That said, I will be keeping the unit and it will be just fine for pop, rock, hip hop and rap. I wouldn't listen to classical or jazz on it as you lose too much without the highs.

Got this for me and my wife for Christmas. We needed a home stereo for FM, CD and to plug the TV into. Anyway, WOW this thing fit the bill. Can't beat the price. Nice unit, great sound.....listening to Pink Floyd right now and it sounds awesome. Would definitely recommend.

Love it! Rocks out baby. Oh yea. Rock is that great music from the 70's where people actually played instruments and sang without a bunch of digital crap on their voices. Made music with rhythm and melody lines for all you younguns that arent sure what real music is. Listen to some Led Zeppelin for some great examples!

Really GOOD unit for our sanctuary and worship service. The sound is great and it is easy to use! I was worried a little by the reviews that had been posted, but my experience so far has been just fine! I find it to be a high quality product for the price. The only negative is that it is not a portable unit, but we made it work for us!
