I have been working a lot lately on a lot of extremely important paperwork. I have been going downtown and looking up loads of things in the library as well as getting tons of phone calls made between me and various offices downtown. Then looking up directions to these offices to make sure that I do not get lost. Smartphones are great for being a dynamic machine that does a million different things. They also suck a battery dry in no time.
When I got this lifeguard mini free to review in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion, I was happy. I always love getting different gadgets to try out.
I charged it overnight and put it in my purse. Brought it. By 10AM, my battery was sending me SOS messages. I pulled the lifeguard out. That is where I noticed the first difference. The cords fit very snugly going into my phone and into the battery. I like that, because loose fitting cords are a pet peeve of mine.
I then left it to charge while I finished looking up some documents. In less than an hour, my battery was full and I was very impressed.
The next problem was a few hours later. With nearly an hour of my phone screen being on while I sent images to someone, the battery was screaming for help again. I was really nervous that the battery would not have enough juice left in it to power up my phone. It did.
On the way home, I plugged it in a third time. Charged to full. The lifeguard is really well made with a metal exterior that has an amazing texture. I love it. I also got two small charging cables. One is a lightning and the other is for Android. I have used both and I have to admit that they work really great. The lifeguard went straight on the charger when I got home, and it is already fully charged again. I really like the Lifeguard Mini and I know that you will, too.

I was really pleased to try this portable battery charger. I use my phone a lot during the day (particularly during my long commutes) and I often find that I will run out of battery at key moments when I really need or want to use my phone. I have tried a lot of different power banks and this is one that I like quite a lot. It’s very cute (I’m a sucker for pink) and well made. The shell is made of aluminum and looks quite durable. This charger works with both Apple and Android phones; I tried it with both and didn’t have any issues. It also works relatively quickly; I was able to fully charge my LG phone in just under two hours. Overall, I’m very pleased with this find and highly recommend it!

This lipstick-style portable battery charger has a 3000mAh capacity and is well priced for the battery alone. But +LIFEGUARD includes a Lightning cable, too!

I really like lipstick battery chargers for the portability aspect. They are small enough that you can shove one in your jeans pocket or shirt pocket or purse and you'll never be caught with a dead cell phone. This one is especially nice because instead of being round, it has a square shape. It won't roll off a table, which is where we often set out phones to charge!

This one is 3 3/4" long and 1" x 1" square. the exterior is wrapped in a thick, sturdy metal case. I got a silver one that's good for either gender. On the business end, it has a full size, 1A, USB port for use when charging another device (like your phone). There is also a micro USB port for recharging this battery pack.

The included user's manual is refreshingly well written, with clear illustrations and enough white space to make it easily readable. Kudos to +LIFEGUARD for this!

Along one side is an LED. It glows red when it is recharging the battery pack and the light goes off when charging is complete. It glows blue when charging another device and turns off when charging is complete. FYI: The included manual cautions against charging the +LIFEGUARD MINI and another device at the same time.

You can recharge the battery pack using the included 12" charging cable. You can connect it to your computer's USB port but charging will be slow. I connect mine to a plug-in USB ac adapter and it charges fully in about 4 hours from a completely depleted state.

The included Lightning cable is ~8" long, which is a fine length for using with a portable battery pack. I use it for charging my iPod.Read more ›

Was hoping to get more than 1 full charge for my iPhone 5 but only got 1 full charge and about 40% of another. Sent a note to the vendor and received the following information:

After a full battery charge of the portable charger, it can power an iPhone 4/4S up to 160%, iPhone 5/5C/5S up to 140%, iPhone 6 up to 120% and iPhone 6+ up to 75%, depending on the devices battery actually.
Since our product +LIFEGUARD MINI 1 is bench for 1A and iPads are bench for 2.1A this means that your device which is the iPAD 2 needs a higher current than our charger could bench. It will charge your iPad, but it'll take longer to reach the 100% charge.

This portable charger is a great device that allows you to feel secure in knowing that you will never be without your phone. The charger comes with two plugs that fits most smart phones, ones like the Samsung Galaxy and one for apple devices. I have used this charger for a couple of weeks and very much like some of its features. One feature that I happen to like is that when you are charging the portable device it had a red LCD light that lets you know that it is charging. Once it is done charging the light will go off. It also has another blue light that is displayed when you are charging your other devices. The blue light also goes away when it has fully charged your device. I have used this device on my Kindle Fire tablet and my Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone and I have to say that it works well. My devices are usually charged up and ready to go within an hour. I also like the design of the charger. I have the one in hot pink. I like the fact that I can put it virtually anywhere as it does not take up a lot of space. I carry it in my purse for those on the go emergencies. Overall I think that this is a really good portable charger and I am glad that this is my new emergency go to device. I had the opportunity to receive this device for free in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
