I was impressed the first time using this saw on my wifes buck. I used to dull my knife on the pelvic bone, but not anymore. The saw ripped right through the bone with ease and saved my knife from either having a chipped blade or dulling. Thanks again Gerber for a great product.

Haven't cut any bones with it yet but seems to be well made. Blade and handle is all one piece with rubber grips screwed (torx) on each side. Blade appears to be laser cut or similar to Silky saws and very sharp. Gerber calls the blade crosscut but looking down on it appears to be two small rows of teeth. Tooth cut, size and count appears to be proper for a bone saw. I have no idea what type of metal this is but looks like it would maintain a sharp edge. I think Gerber should include the metal type on their specification or packaging. It comes with a Velcro sheath that covers the blade only and does not allow for attaching to a belt unless you can put your own lanyard through the tiny slot on the end of the handle. I haven't been very impressed with Gerber in the past, had one skinning hook the rubber around the finger holes disenegrated and fell off... and one traditional compact bone/hack saw for which I never could find replacement blades. If it cuts as good as it looks I think it will be a best seller, just couldn't pass up with Amazon Prime.
