I used it for the first time tonight and I am very pleased with its performance. I had low expectations and this exceeded it. I do not have ANY night vision experience whatsoever, so I do not know how this compares to anything else on the market.

Pros: You can see pretty well at night. It is lightweight for it's size. You can take photos as you view things. Very fun to use for the first time user of anything night vision.
Cons: low resolution (which was expected - this is not a $1k+ Gen3 military-grade night vision device). Digital zoom is very grainy. Huge size for a monocular.

Attached is a picture I took the first time I used it on my deck in the backyard a few minutes ago. It was pretty freaky to see 5 sets of glowing eyes watching you in pitch darkness!

Being a little near sighted and not really have very good eye vision at all, I found these monoculars true in scope and clarity. Actually I was a little surprised at their price as I dropped my supposedly unbreakable Celestrons which cost me over $500 and I found this pair better made and much better night vision. I think I will stick with Barska in the future.

Amazon was getting upset with me returning some items this year but I thought it was okay when you buy as much stuff as i do.
I have no regrets because it gave me the opportunity to see for myself 3 models of night vision monoculars.
I found the Barska NVX100 to be the best value.
I got mine for less then $100.00 on a gold box deal but even if I paid more the purchase is well worth it.
It allows you to see a great distance with the built in infrared illuminator and 3X viewing is excellent.
The added feature of taking photos or video (No Audio) is a BIG PLUS.
Forget using the digital zoom......that feature sucks on most cameras.
It fits nicely in your coat pocket.
I could go on and on........
I believe it's the best deal you'll find for night vision.

Got it on sale, very cool device. As long as you take the lens cover off when you switch to night vision mode.......otherwise you may be cursing up a storm at the fact you can't see a damn thing...ahem.
You WILL NOT find night vision this awesome for this price anywhere, ever. I've looked for a couple years now. This thing rocks. I've tested it at 50 yds and had perfect clarity on power level 2. It's so good, that everything close is actually too bright on the higher power levels- but that's great for seeing further in the distance.
Zero complaints. It records, takes pictures, and you can see a gnat scratch its ass at 40 yards on a moonless night in the Amazon- jungle.

This is a nifty little night vision instrument. It's smaller than I expected, lightweight, and has a very good picture. Yes, as others have stated the instructions aren't particularly illuminating but, on the other hand, ,it doesn't take a rocket scientist to operate it. It's pretty simple. The first time I used it, while I was figuring it out, I saw bats flying around in the pitch dark...how cool was that! I live in the country and, at night if my dogs bark at something my go to was an LED spotlight...now I can less intrusively look for whatever it is disturbing them. Like this a lot.

My wife bought this for me as a gift for Christmas this year. I live in the country where there is very little light. In fact, it was cloudy tonight with no moon light making conditions perfect for testing. The NVX 100 works as advertised. With 7 levels of IR, I was able to see everything within 400 feet very clearly. Taking pictures and video were simple and playback was fine. Focusing is made simple with a thumb wheel directly beneath the lens. There is also an adjustment for those who wear glasses that I found very useful. The manual that it came with is poorly written but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to operate it. I haven't drug it through the woods yet but it looks and feels very well built. These are worth every bit of the $169 they regularly go for. My wife paid $86 in a Lightning Deal making the value even better. I have a lot of hunting buddies and will definitely recommend this to them.

I got this on a lightning deal for $86. For that price you cannot beat this thing. Works great and with all the options it has, it was a great deal. It is normally $100 more than that so I cannot complain at all for that price. Product does what it states so read what it is and what it can do.

I ordered this on a lightning deal. I have never owned a night vision monocular before. So, I have nothing to compare it too. It works as advertised. Ambient city light is enough to illuminate objects and the IR works in total darkness. I loaned this to a friend that lives out in the country for hunting. He was able to clearly see his archery target out doors at 60 yards with ambient light. He also used it in his stand and thought it worked well. So I would classify this as a good buy for the price.
