    This is a rigid sole, fast shoe. Great for discus, hammer, and rotational shot. Probably not for gliders. It's slightly turned up at the toe so that you naturally end up on the balls of your feet. The ball of the foot area is very fast, the rest of the shoe has some grip. If you're hitting the positions, you won't feel any friction at all in your turns. If you're off balance, or on your heels, you'll feel it, which I found great after several years away from the Discus. I was able to notice and correct a couple things right away, pretty much as soon as I got in the ring with them. I don't know if I'd recommend these shoes for a novice thrower. I can't decide if it would help them find the right position, or just mess them up. Ask your coach before investing in these if you're a young thrower. I was between sizes and settled on the smaller size with no socks. Worked out great. I also love that Amazon could get me the shoes the next day.

    this is an excellent shoe. as an experienced thrower and spinner, these are the best shoes ive had in a while. with the metal plate that saucony installed in the shoes is genius for the roational shotput and discus. i dont recommend these for beginners at all they are really fast and also dont recommend for the glide technique. they fit amazing and really comfortable. i went from 45 feet to 49 in 3 weeks! and for those of you who say these dont last, your practicing wrong because i took almost 1,000 throws in these and they are holding up like new still. and its even better cause olympian adam nelson designed and formed the shoe. and also for those throwers who once had the nike rotational 5, very similar to those shoes. great shoes

    Great shoes, initially. But my son didn't even get one full track season out of them. The rotational pad wore straight through! This is not acceptable. These shoes are not inexpensive, and they should last at least a full season..., we are very disappointed. He's a senior in high school, and we only have a few weeks left of track.., and now we have to buy a new pair of throwing shoes that he'll only wear about 6 or 8 times. BUMMER!!!

    Really Great shoe bu it wore down really fast. I train about 3 times a week on a smooth circle and in 5 to 6 months the sole was worn down and falling apart. I like it but cant recommend it unless you got the cash to shell out for another mid season.

    bought these for mtn. bike riding with a particular type of clip in petal that requires flat smooth sole. They are nice and lightweight and look nice but a bit smaller than expected. would probably order up 1/2 size.

    Great throwing shoe on the second try. The first size I got was way to small so I ordered a size up and they fit great. They definitely take some getting used to, i fell over the first time I tried to throw the discus because they are so fast, haha. Good shoe, would definitely recommend.
