The diameter was fairly consistent, most of the roll was within +/- .02 mm, but at some points there would be parts that the size would vary greatly and jam in the extruder. There were also sometimes particles in the PLA itself that would clog the hot end. Overall if you choose to use this PLA, I would recommend somewhere in the neighborhood of 220 degrees C otherwise it doesn't bond well between layers.

My Maker Bot Replicator 2 LOVES this filament. I've always kept my temperature at 230 c. It has never gotten clogged in the extruder motor and seems to curl a lot less. The filament I'm comparing it to was from MakerBot! I found my MG Chemicals filament at Frys electronics store (December 2014 for 19.99) and decided to buy it instead of Maker Bot brand because MG's Glow in the dark was a 1/5 the cost of Maker Bot.

1/5 the cost and better - seems too good to be true but I love MG and won't buy anything else now.

I am a member of a HackerSpace, Think|Haus, and we have four printers in operation. We have used the 3.00mm and 1.75mm filaments in a variety of colours using both ABS and PLA. We have found the filaments to be very consistent and meet our needs. The colours offer a wide range of options as well. We are very happy with the filament from MG Chemicals and continue to use them.

I'm new to 3D printing so decided to get some MG Chemicals filament because it could be found locally. When you get a new printer you want to start printing right away and the vendor shipped mine with ABS even though I told them not to and the printer does not have a heated bed.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, the filament is a little brittle but this was only an issue when I unhooked the spool. It had no effect whatsoever on the print quality or the filament feed. In fact, the filament was sturdy enough to be fed into and pulled out of the hothead a number of times without issue.

While print resolution is limited to the printer itself, I feel confident that this filament is giving me all the output resolution my printer can produce. It flowed freely and adhered well to the bed. The filament spanned small gaps without drooping.

Right now I am printing a lot of calibration files from Thingeverse but hope to start making my own designs soon.

I will use the MG Chemical filament again in the future.

I have ordered a few different colors of MG Chemical filament, and this is the only one that seems to be working - sometimes. It is still extremely brittle, and will snap frequently, but when you can extrude it it prints decently.
