My two Bengals (cats) used to jump out of the litter box (it was covered) and toss litter everywhere. Then I tried an old Yoga mat that caught some of the litter and they liked walking on it as it was soft and cushy. This mat is something else altogether.

At a large 24" X 35" I place it lengthwise against the door opening. The cats simply walk out; walk around a bit (intrigued by the comfortable cushy feel of the mat) and then leave. Any excess litter is kept in the mat and that little 'moat' of flat material along the edges really does catch some litter. I don't need to vacuum as much anymore and the cats seem to like it. In fact, I can lift the mat and shake the litter back into the box. I couldn't vacuum the Yoga mat as it was too soft, but this mat really takes to my (pet hair) vacuum cleaner even with its strong suction.

The material is made out of soft PVC so that cats really like it. It's soft, but more importantly, for the price, it's a real deal when trying to keep litter in check. Product supplied for review.

P.S. I have two cats and two litter boxes. I bought an extra mat for the other box.

My daughter has a kitty, and she keeps the box in the bathroom, where he walks that litter all over the floor. This is no fun when you're walking in there with bare feet, and it's hard to clean up properly (it sticks in the grout).

This mat is thick, plush, and made of thousands of little plastic/rubber fibers that catch the litter when the cat walks on it. This cat is very particular about what he puts his feet on, and I was concerned that he wouldn't want to go near it (that'd be a big problem), but he had no issues with it at all.

It looks really nice, too. Very clean and neat. It cleans up easily--just shake it out and you can wash it in the bathtub really quickly.

If you have a kitty, and his/her box is indoors, this is a GREAT way to keep the litter from being tracked all over the place.

I've tried a few of the litter pan mats that look like astroturf and have been less than pleased with their effectiveness in stopping, or at least slowing, the tracking of litter outside of the pan. This mat, however, is doing a great job.

It looks rather odd - sort of like if you took a slice from a huge loofah sponge and turned it into a mat. The design is highly functional, however. Litter gets trapped and stays trapped until you vacuum the mat. The texture is rough enough to trap litter, but not so rough that any of my cats had any reluctance walking on it. The mat holds itself in place very well on tile floors.

It's very nicely sized at about 2 foot by 3 foot. I put a few inches of it under the litter pan to anchor it, and leave the rest as a walking pad.

The only downside is that you can't wash this in the washer. Cleaning is limited to vacuuming and swiping it with a damp cloth. Immersion in water is not recommend, according to the cleaning instructions that came with the mat.

According to the manufacturer, the material is closed pore PVC which prevents the growth of mildew and retaining odors. I've not had it long enough to vouch for that, but I can say that the build quality is very good. I'll update the review should problem occur down the road.

Excellent choice if you're looking for an effective litter trapping mat. Highly recommend.

I love this litter mat, it's big enough (35" x 24") to fit under our large litter box with more than enough room to catch the litter before they track it all over the floor! The mats texture reminds me of a loofah sponge made out of rubber. Perfect for grabbing the bits of litter from between kitty toes, and it feels soft so they don't avoid stepping on it.

We have a couple of young kittens that think it's fun to see who can kick out the most litter onto the floor. This mat makes it easy to pick up and pour back into the box. It's very easy to clean too, a quick rinse or wipe down and they're back in business again.

I've used old bath mats, rugs, and even old towels under the litter box and it was still a mess to clean. This mat is so much nicer. The mat itself is stiff enough so you can lift it up and pour back into the box,...unlike towels or rugs that just make more of a mess when you lift them up. This works very well!

I have a beautiful kitty who sadly has a problem with kicking litter out of her litter box. My fiance and I have been trying to figure out what to do to help reduce her tracking it through the apartment, but it's hard. We looked at a bunch of options, but this was the biggest one I'd seen, and it helps cover a large area. I got it in the mail in a HUGE box (was a bit wasteful as far as not really needing one that big, but that's neither here nor there.) The mat itself smells like serious chemicals. I left it out for at least a month, and the smell hasn't reduced. There is also a warning on the label that it cannot be washed, and the company isn't liable for any damage, blah blah. Not sure I feel okay using something that 1) reeks of chemicals, and 2) has a legal disclaimer that they aren't liable for damages? That to me just set off a bunch of warning bells. I paid enough that I'm really annoyed that this is pretty much something I'm stuck with now. I am hoping the smell doesn't turn my kitty away from using her litter box entirely, and most importantly, I'm hoping that it doesn't do anything to her paws, or anything like that. I'm super careful, and I'm actually tempted to just throw it away. :/ Honestly I'd go with another one the next chance we can. I suppose it "works" for now, but personally I wouldn't suggest it to any friends or family til they take care of that smell, and make it out of a different material so it can be washed, and be safe for a pet to walk on, without having to put a disclaimer on the product. I should know better than to buy anything made in china, but the deal was too hard to pass up. You live, you learn.
