These are NOT Intermatic timers. They are Woods timers. The wires aren't quite as easy to use. We have found a slightly higher failure rate. They are generically equivalent, but should not be presented as Intermatic when they are not.

Just installed these in my Dad's bathrooms.. one to replace a decades old one that finally failed (no longer wound down) and one to finally put that other fan on a timer. Pretty easy to install, though it would be helpful if the wires could go out either side of the box, since it is a pretty big box. You will also need a fairly thin screwdriver since the wire attachment screws are down inside a hole in the box.
My experience removing the "push on" knob of the old switch was very valuable since it was impossible! I ended up breaking the shaft of the (already broken) switch since the knob was on so securely. This taught me NOT to put the knob of the new switches on until I was sure everything was ready and tested. I pulled gently on the new knobs after installation, but they pushed on pretty hard and gave no sign of coming off ever...so put that knob on when you know you never want back inside the wall again...
If the knob could be removed after installation (like to access some other switch/outlet/device in the same box) then this would get 5 stars, but given all three of these switches appears to be a "one way" knob, I can't go higher than 4. I would rather have a knob that will never come off than one that falls off, so overall I'm quite happy with this timer.

It was easy to install with only two wires, which is why I wanted a spring loaded timer over a digital one. It works as it should and the timer is fairly accurate however the color is off. The plate is much darker than the picture in the listing and is darker than my light almond switch plates. I guess I didn't realize the difference between almond and ivory but I always thought ivory was a lighter shade than almond. Regardless, this product is a darker color than I expected and the knob is even a slightly lighter color than the plate that comes with it. Strange!

12/15. I just bought another one. It came in an old crumpled box with a 2009 date on it. Sure enough, it failed, and I had to return it. It's inexcusable to me to put items on the market like this that have been sitting around in a damp warehouse likely for 6 years!

The Intermatic FD60MC 60-Minute Spring Loaded Wall Timer, gets a 5 star rating. It a quality built product unlike the one I replaced. I would have purchased more, but this was the last one in stock. This is not a cheap made timer and the color(ivory)is getting hard to find. I've searched Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes nobody carries Ivory wall timers.

This thing works just as advertised but it does make a discernible ticking sound. This would be no problem in bathroom or other environment where ambient noise covers it up but I was looking for something for my children's rooms who leave their lights on ALL THE TIME. The occupancy sensors don't seem to work with our fluorescent lights. Now the children are complaining about the noise from the timer.

Don't want to leave the impression that this is a bad review. The product works flawlessly but it does make some sound.

I bought this switch to control a bathroom fan to lower humidity after showering. I am not an electrician, but the lack of a ground terminal caused me to not use this in my bathroom. Overall construction of the switch seems OK but not great. I bought an electronic timer switch instead.

Good and solved the problem but the part did look like it had gone through some issues like uneven faceplate. But all I needed it now for was the Knob for my 20 yr or so old timer and now that works again. Where for low cost can I just get another of these knobs without having to glue it on and fill it? It was almost cheaper to buy this whole unit vs just the knob!!

These are the classic, spring loaded "tic-tic-tic" timer switches. For most applications, you are better off with one of the more modern digital ones. But, these are the only option for switch loop applications. And, they are tried and true. I have some in my mother's house that are probably 30 years old.
