The cartridges came in what looked like a commercial zip lock bag, not the standard manufacturers packaging. There was none of the usual manufacturers information included. They appear to be used, reloaded, cartridges. Beware.

This did not give the number of pages that it advertises. I suspect that these products dry out while in storage waiting to be sold. The rumor that using a Brother product gives a better quality picture, greatly depends on the product that it is compared to. This is an above average product, BUT, and this is a big but, the price difference is not justified.

Own the MFC-J5520DW (bought from COSTCO) ... bought Ink Cartridges from AMAZON. Whether ratings from manufacturers make any sense of not, these seem to last longer than any other Ink Cartridge I have used on prior printers. Color quality, ease of use, and manufactured consistency are key ... and why I bought these.

Have not had to open. I bought this when I bought the printer, as back up in mid July. Still have not had to replace the regular cartridge and the printer does run daily. Not as frequently as a home office but enough that it was worth getting when my Epson died.
