All in all, I'm satisfied. These are a versatile glove that should keep your hands warm and dry in a variety of conditions, and they'll last you a long time. Worth the investment.

I've worn these gloves on some very cold days skiing in Colorado, as well as some days with warmer Spring conditions. They still look brand new after half a season, and I'm impressed at how well the wool liners wick away moisture from my hands. With my old gloves, I used to get very sweaty hands in the Spring, but with these gloves, my hands stay dry all day. I added some Nikwax waterproofing cream for the leather, and I haven't had any problem with water soaking through from the snow either.

I will say that on the colder days, these weren't as warm as I would have expected. They are certainly not bad, but my fingers took a while to warm up. I'd say they're on par with the last pair of gloves I owned as far as warmth, a pair of Grandoe Gore-Tex gloves with a leather palm and fabric back. The leather on these Hestras is much beefier than the Grandoes though, which was the main I bought them. From the wear after half a season on the new Hestras, I can see them easily lasting many more seasons of hard riding.

My last pair of Hestra gloves lasted 6 seasons with 50+ days per season. I expect that these will last as well. I really like that I can buy new liners for them as I need them. Strangely, these gloves run large - most Hestras are small fitting. Spend the time treating the gloves with Sno-Seal or the Hestra balm and they will last you a long time.

I used the fitting guide on the Hestra web site and got a perfect fit. The gloves are very warm and they are now my favorites. Removable liners are great to dry them out. Very water resistant leather, but not waterproof.
