For an inexpensive home hair cutting kit, this is a well presented set-up. I like the fact that it comes in a compact transport case.
However, upon receipt of the kit, make sure to test out the units immediately. In my case, everything was good, except the battery powered trimmer worked fine, until I tried using it inverted (blades pointing down). The motor started vibrating excessively & sounding ragged, as if the internal motor wasn't properly secured.

However, as a redeeming feature:

I notified Wahl directly & they replaced that unit immediately, at no charge, & it works fine, with just a request that I send the defective unit back for them (on their dime) to evaluate. I recommend Wahl products, for that very reason. They stand behind their products. That's something you don't see that often in today's world.

This is an excellent value and a great choice for someone looking for an inexpensive set of trimmers of reasonable quality.

I am not an expert on trimmers and I'll admit that up-front. My requirements were mainly value-based and my goal was to get a product that is of higher quality than a generic brand, while still staying inexpensive. When I got these, the kit was $21, which is certainly inexpensive and actually LESS than many of the no-name generic kits. I bought these for basic things like trimming my beard, maintaining neck line, touchups, side burns, etc. For this usage they have worked really well for me. I use the corded trimmer maybe once a week, and the battery-powered trimmer a few times a week. Three years after purchase, both products work as well as they did when they were new.

These are not built to a quality standard that professional Wahl products are (and they are not priced that way either.) They are built for and marketed as a value home-use product, and I think they do a very good job at this role. After three years, my own usage has found that the...
---blades themselves have remained sharp,
---guards work well to prevent cuts,
---battery life on the trimmer is excellent, and
---overall construction is very solid considering the price.
---Also, the included carry kit, guards, oil, and brush are also a nice addition as they avoid having to spend more money down the road and they give me everything I need in a single and inexpensive kit.

If your needs are for professional usage or require a very robust & extremely high-quality trimmer set, chances are a different (and more expensive) Wahl product is a better match. But if your goal is for a value set of trimmers that do a reasonably good job, this product is probably a good match, as they have worked very well for my needs.

Clippers arrived on time and work great. Have 2 boys who like buzz cuts and this will pay for itself in just one use on each boy. The little trimmer clipper works great on the neck and cuts clean. Will be great for touch ups. Will have to order more oil as the tiny little container that comes with it has just a very small amount. Over all I am very pleased with both the clippers and the price.

We contacted the manufacturer, and at MY expense, I must send it in and they will either replace or repair it. How about just sending me a new one?
