Great rain coat - careful with sizing

Love my Helly Hansen! As the other reviews have mentioned the sizing is off. I am normally a small and the medium fits perfect (like a small would). I would recommend ordering a size larger than normally worn.

Hated to return

This jacket is beautiful. The raspberry color is gorgeous. As other reviewers have stated, this is a FITTED jacket. It looked great on, very slimming, but the extra large just fit around my size 14 hips. I hated to return it, but there's no way I could have worn a bulky sweater or fleece top under under it. I bought this to replace another Helly Hanson jacket that was huge on me after I lost 35 pounds. I was surprised to discover both jackets, the one that just closed without pulling and the one I could now zip and pull the front about 7" away from my body were HH EXTRA LARGE. I zipped both of them and placed the old jacket flat on the bed with the new jacket on top. I lined up the left side seams and was startled to see 4 1/2 inches of the old jacket showing past the right edge of the new jacket. I love the quality and details of Helly Hansen jackets. My whole family and I bought them for sailing, but we wear them for everything. Just be sure to check measurements, size charts, and reviews because the sizes seem to vary with the styles.

Good quality and decent price

UPDATE - I have now worn the jacket several times. The hoodie is a bit shallow especially if you tie your hair back in a pony tail and try to put the hood over your head, pony tail and all. The rim of the hood will sit past your hairline and thus be ineffective against rain. Therefore, I am deducting a star from this product.

This is a high quality jacket with a mesh lining to separate the skin from the plastic waterproof underlayer. It does have a trim fit - tapered waist for a more feminine look. I normally wear a size S but a size M fits me well for this jacket. The hood is a perfect fit to allow for easy visibility - no overly large floppy hood. The velcro strap at the back of the hood allows me to adjust the top of the hood for more or less head coverage. There are 2 zippered front pockets. There is also an inner breast pocket on the left side. The cuffs have adjustable velcro straps. Be sure the straps are fastened so avoid the velcro damaging your other clothing while in a suitcase.

I ordered the coral color. It is an orangey pink coral so it is quite flashy and less red than the color on the website. If you desire a low key jacket, the gray may be a better choice.

too small

Had to send this back since the sizing measurements do not match the actual jacket. XXL is more like a M or L in real life measurements.

Cute well made women's rain coat

I like the color of this jacket. The sky blue is very cheerful for when it's rainy and gloomy here in Seattle. I am 5 4' and 110 lbs and have long, skinny arms and the sleeves are just the right length. I took this whale watching on a very windy boat ride and I stayed warm. It's fairly fitted through the waste line, but a little baggy in the arm pit area. This jacket is well made and won't make you look boxy by any means.

Very nice! It provides a good wind break

I purchased this jacket to walk on the beach. Very nice! It provides a good wind break. Covers the bottom and the hood is great too! The length of the sleeves is a little long for me, but the adjustable band helps keep the sleeve at a higher level for me. Only wish the hood would tuck in. But overall a great jacket!

Black jacket

I ordered this jacket in a med which much too small. I am 5 3" weigh 126 lb Returned the med and ordered a large which was much better however when I arrived in Italy and tried to wear a sweater under jacket discovered it is still too small to wear a sweater under jacket with comfort Also you must know that the tab that covers the zipper has Velcro on tab as well as on jacket. The jacket must be zipped and Velcro tabs secure if not the Velcro will snag anything but cotton it will ruin any travel material The travel clothes like Chico sells you cannot wear any fabric like this. I have had to replace the jacket while here with a wool jacket not something I expected to do I am hoping I am able to return to Amazon when we arrive in USA the middle of Dec. Soo disappointed! It has been an expense that I had not planned on

Exactly what I was looking for!

I ordered this jacket in the begonia colour, and it's gorgeous! I've only worn it once and have already gotten tons of compliments. I bought it for running/biking/kayaking, but it's great for just running errands as well. I am usually a size medium, 5'5" and 135lbs, and the medium is great. There's room underneath for a fleece, and I love that the hood actually keeps the rain off your face. Great jacket!
