Great for anyone especially people with ugly big toes.

I have rather unattractive big toes and these shield them well. In addition they are very well made and great to walk in.

Fake Fake Fake

I have owned this style flip flop from Keen before & loved them. Unfortunatly the shoes I received were not real Keens. They are counterfeit. They are made of cheap materials & poorly constructed. If you order these & they arrive with the logo painted yellow on the bottom they are fake, send them back. Real Keens have the logo made of solid yellow rubber on the bottom. I contacted Keen to verify this. I'm so upset.

Super comfortable flip flops and great men's sandals that work for women!

I had my first pair of Waimeas (or whatever they were calling it then) a while ago. That pair lasted for 6 years and were very durable. I even tried to melt them by sitting too close to the camp fire once and still lasted for 3 years after that!

So when those broke, I bought a new pair...then when that pair vanished I found myself looking for a pair this July. BUT the Women's Waimea's this year were all incredibly ugly ...so I tried my luck with buying men's.

My luck panned out and these sandals fit great! I wear a 10.5 in women's and I bought a size 9 in men's...Perfect fit.

Also...I really like the replacement of the rubber thong separator with a nylon one...its surprisingly MUCH more comfortable and helps improve the overall fit.

Fit differently than they used to

The new style, with the fabric between the toes instead of the rubber, seem to fit looser than the original style; like the straps are longer than they used to be. If you have fat feet you will be happy, but if you have normal feet these do not fit as well as the originals. (I've had 5 pairs of the original style and have two pairs of the new style.)

I am female but I am more comfortable in the Men's Waimea as the women's are too ...

I am female but I am more comfortable in the Men's Waimea as the women's are too narrow for me and I do not have what would be classified as a wide foot. I wear a 9 in women's and purchased the 8 in mens and they fit perfectly. This is actually my second pair of Keen Waimea H2 sandals. I purchased my first pair 2 years ago. During the warm months, it's the only shoe I wear. Unlike regular flip flops, they provide lots of support and I can walk in them all day. I have several foot and ankle injuries/surgeries and there are few shoes I can wear all day.

The Perfect Summer Shoe/Sandal!

Purchased my first pair 3 years ago, so this is a long term review! They are still going strong after wearing them almost daily during the summer months! I liked them so much I purchased an additional 5 pairs in case they ever stop making them!

Their soles are similar to a regular sneaker - formed and moulded with arch support - not like a typical flat sandal. The toe protector is the real differentiator - I can't tell you how many times it's protected my big toe from getting banged or hung up. I wear mine when driving and the combination of toe protector and firm shoe-like sole assures the sandal never gets hung up on the brake or accelerator pedal.

Having both types, my preference is for fabric based straps rather than recycled rubber. Both wear well, but the rubber straps tend to be less flexible and can irritate the tops of your feet until they are broken in. The fabric based straps are comfortable right from the get-go. My first pair was blue. I would like to see them made again as opposed to the multi-color versions they are offering today.

Aside from the comfort & toe protection, another nice thing about them is they periodically go into the washing machine for a refreshening.

Not for those with sensitive toes/feet

I picked these up for the hubby thinking that they would be protective of his painful tootsies, unfortunately they were too painful for him to wear. He spent years playing ball when he was younger and his feet are really beat up and very sensitive. The plastic on these shoes was way too hard for him and the thong piece was too stiff and hard. The fit and styling were as expected.

Not Recommended for those with sensitive/damaged toes.
