I just don't know. This thing was crazy expensive at forty three bucks and I honestly am not sure it's worth it. I don't know why I didn't realize the honey spool was metal, but it is, which is a little strange to me...I guess I thought hit was silicone or something. The glass is thin, and it doesn't say it is crystal so I'm not sure of its strength if it has any at all. Its quite tall and the silver top just sits on the glass, mind, with a ring of silicone that comes off way too easily. It seems to me this is quite easily knocked over in which case honey would be everywhere and that is my main concern at at the moment as I contemplate whether to return it. There was only one other pot that appeared to be a sealed or semi sealed pot and it was well over a hundred dollars; while I am still thinking what I paid is absurd. It just seems that all of them with the hole and the handle sticking out leaves a bit of room for bugs to get in should the occasional fruit fly or whatever come along. At least this has something atop it to prevent anything going into it. There doesn't seem to be any better choices out there and I've shopped everywhere online for a suitable honey pot for the table aside from the ugly containers they arrive in. I don't know if I'll return it quite honestly in spite of its failings or potential failings it is the best of what is available sadly. The opening is not large and I wonder if it will make a mess, I guess we will see and I will update if I keep it. :/
