They are too big. I was expecting 1.5 by 1.75 to fit snugly to 1.5, but it doesn't. Probably would be best to size down when buying these, as they are really wide. They do stretch a little bit, but not much. Also, only the tips are reinforced, not the area where the dew claw is. The reinforced material seems the same as the other material, it's just a different color. It would be better if the upper half or so was tapered elastic so that they would stay on better. Also, it would be good if the reinforced material was rubberized on the outside and extended along the bottom/sides so that it would grip the inside of the boots a bit better.

I use these with the Grip Trex boots to help keep snow out of the boots and I have an airedale with a lot of hair around her feet/boots. I think these work pretty well though I would recommend still putting something like Bag Balm or Mushers wax in a small amount on the foot before putting on the socks to help keep their feet a little drier if you are going for a long walk in the snow. I'm really happy I bought these socks as silly as I felt buying doggie socks...

Bought these for my dog. They fit well but the down fall is they will slid down on him. That is thankfully nothing a litter vetwrap can't fix on hikes. He has the short Ruffwear boots which is the other reason these do not stay in place. The taller ones should keep the socks in place and prevent rubbing on the dogs dewclaw.

Sock width measures 2 1/4" for smallest size (advertised 1.5"/1.75" on Amazon & product packaging). Followed Ruffwear.com video to measure dog paw "width." My min pin mix paw width is 1.75" (foot length with nail is 2 1/4") - he should fit this sock. So loose overall that falls off and too much material to bunch up in his Size 1 Muttluks snow mushers. I am giving it a three star because poor advertising is by Ruffwear (not seller) and quality is really nice and thick. Unable to use for my dog.
