This is an adorable toy box, unless you plan to fill it with toys. It quickly becomes misshapen and even when I took a bunch of toys out, it will not return to its shape so I can close it. Disappointing- especially because the patterns are so cute. We bought two and they both look terrible now.

This toy chest feels like it is a cross between a light canvas nylon texture. It is a bit thicker feeling then nylon material but is easily wipe able. The picture and colors are an exact match to what was sent to me. The one I purchased was the poodle on sale for around $17, but I would have paid the normal price of $24. It does have cardboard sides that are pretty durable. We love the look and it works perfectly as a book chest. We also bought the Flamingo wall hanging book holder and the Hippo basket for toys. The whole line is great for those who need to stay within their budget but also want to pull off a more expensive look without spending a fortune.

This is a sturdy canvas box with cardboard inserts to hold it solid. The toy box arrived shipped flat, and assembled in one easy pop open and insert base. The leopard on the front of the box is bright and cheerful, and nicely stitched so little fingers can't peel him off. The toy box holds a surprising amount of toys, and the lid is light enough for my toddler to flip back. There are handles on the side so that the box could be carried. The handles are very tight to the box, and are not really apparent to small children.

On the con side, the flap on the front of the toy box is rather silly - it is not long enough to actually flap over the front of the box, especially when the box is full of toys, and the lid doesn't snap or connect at all. I would say the lid is more decorative than useful, since it does cover the toys and make the room look more tidy, but the sides of this light box do bulge and so often the lid will fall into the box instead of sitting on top.

Overall, a very affordable toy box, easy to pack up if your family tends to move around. Seems to be easy to wipe clean, and it does a very good job corralling all those awkwardly sized toys. Kid friendly, and cute!

I read all the reviews and even asked a question about this toy chest before making my decision on whether this will meet my needs. Despite the negative reviews, I decided to get it anyway since I don't have to worry about young children leaning on it, but I do have to worry about a 12 lb cat hanging out on it.

As expected, this Poodle toy box is made out of a light weight canvas material. The light to medium weight cardboard keeps the box in its shape, and they are built into the canvas material. There is a large rectangular cardboard in the front, back, top, and a removable one at the bottom. The cardboard on the sides folds in half vertically. This is how the toy box is folded flat. The top lid lays over the box to cover it, and a small edge folds down onto the front of the box. The lid doesn't have anything to keep the box close asides from gravity.

As you can see in the picture, on the side, there are 2 straps sewed onto each side serving as handles. They will come in handy for moving the box. The Poodle is sewed onto the front of the box, and is made out of felt. It is very cute.

This box serves the purpose that I need it for which is to store cat food, treats, training pads, etc... It is very cute. I am very happy with the purchase. Before you decide on getting it, keep in mind that....

1- This is an inexpensive box, lower your expectations on the quality. There are many ways to improve this product, but its intention is not to be a high quality, long lasting product. Although, I am expecting it to be long lasting for my usage.

2- Think thoroughly about the purpose that you want to use it for and the environment. For example: it is not designed for tough handling by human, animals and weather.Read more ›

If your kids are older this might work for you but we found that our crawling kiddo would lean onto the front panel to reach into the chest for his toys which resulted in the panel folding in and bending.

Not very sturdy, I have 2 young girls 1 & 3 and as a result of them bending over to take toys out of toy chest the sides have permanently bent in. The sides are only made of cardboard so they bend very easily.

This is a very cute design but not practical for young children. My 3 year old leans on the front and the "reinforced cardboard" has already bent in several places. It arrived quickly and was easy to set up and will do the job to hold their stuffed animals but it looks pretty bad now.
