This is a perfectly good wax. The cleaner side of the wax is not aggressive at all; in fact it only does minor clean up. For scratches or light paint transfers, there are better products. The wax went on smoothly. The shine it produced is good. It takes a while for the wax to dry.

I'm not crazy over this wax; it is just as good as a lot of other products on the market. I recently used Zaino's wax and like that a lot more. With that product I can work in the sun or the shade and I use a tiny amount of wax. This Griot product is like traditional soft waxes, I have to apply a lot of wax for it to do its job. If I go crazy and get near panel lines or vinyl, the wax goes in those cracks and on that trim, leaving an ugly residue.

I did a comparison of three waxes side by side - Zaino, Griot, and 3M. The best deepest shine was from Zaino. Griot and 3M were virtually identical, a good shine and smooth finish. If I had all day and wanted the absolute best shine possible, Zaino wins hands down. If I only wanted one wax and wanted to get done quickly, I would buy either Griot or 3M based solely on price. Griot used to have some of the best car care products on the market - you could close your eyes and buy anything knowing it would be high quality. Sadly, Griot has gone the way of a lot of companies; it now has commodity products that aren't necessarily any better than other companies.

I hand wash and wax all of our family vehicles whenever there's time. Automated car washes tend to leave swirl marks while a good pro hand car wash can cost a bundle, and they usually wash in the bright sunlight (I always wash and wax cars in the shade). I've been using Meguiar's G12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 - 18 oz. but have always used Carnauba wax for our older vehicles and alloy wheels. This Griot's Garage Cleaner wax was worth a try.

Likes:
*Easy to dispense, squeezable bottle with a pop open top.
*Pleasant cinnamon scent.
*Simple to apply using soft foam applicator, dries quickly to a light haze, and polishes off easily with a microfiber or 100% cotton towel.
*Leaves a nice, deep shine.
*Works great with older vehicles with thinner or no clearcoats.
*Seemed to polish away tiny scratches and swirl marks.

Slight concerns:
*Have to be careful to wipe away all the leftover wax residue that gets caught in the nooks and crannies of the vehicle and wheels.
*Attracts slightly more dust than synthetic waxes.
*UV resistant to protect paint finishes from the searing sun?

Overall:
Classic style Carnauba cleaner was works great with our older vehicles and alloy wheels but I still prefer NXT wax system for our newer vehicles.

My husband runs my minivan where only off road vehicles belong. The poor thing is covered in pock marks and dings. I decided to give my car a bath and experimented with Griot’s cleaner wax to see if it would improve the finish.

When I asked my daughter what she thought of the results, she said, “Looks like you just bought [the car].” Maybe she didn’t look hard enough. The scratches are still there, but I admit it is much improved.

This wax was easy to apply. Wax on, wax off. The off part was easy, also.

I have a couple older but gently used vehicles that are in great condition; they were both due for their routine safety inspection this week. They are routinely washed and twice yearly waxed but I noticed my 15yo truck's headlights were getting increasingly yellowed with age.

For my truck's headlight lenses I used the Griot's Correcting Pad with a bit of baking soda paste (baking soda with just enough water for form a paste - or use a white paste toothpaste instead) to gently but effectively reduce the haze on my lenses. I rinsed the lenses a few times in between to see the results... This combination worked brilliantly! I can see my lights again! Don't forget to wax the lights to seal them, I used the Griot's Garage Cleaning Wax with great results! I used the correcting pad gently as an applicator (after it was washed out from the baking soda paste), then once the wax was dried I used the Griot's FAST Finishing Pad to remove the wax. The Griot's garage items worked GREAT together as a team! It worked so well that I'm going to use this on my SUV next. I used the pads by hand and not with an orbital since I had such small areas to "treat".

This is the second GRIOT's GARAGE product I have reviewed this eek and this Cleaner Wax is another quality product. I have never stuck with just one wax and have used many during my lifetime. Some have been very expensive, such as the Adams Wax. I applied this cleaner wax to my Corvette and found very good results.

The bottle is easy to open by just raising the top and the squirting a few drops onto a clean cloth. Easy to apply to the vehicle's finish and was not that difficult or time consuming to wipe clean. The shine was as good as any shine I have gotten on this vehicle since I owned it, including the Adam's product which was ten times more expensive. I could see that a few of the small blemishes did get removed in the process but don't expect miracles by seeing large scratches or abrasions being removed, as that will not happen. I did only use a hand application and did not use an electric polisher but I don't think that would have made a lot of difference.

The end result was a shiny finish that when I poured some water on the hood , the water just formed beads that quickly dropped to the side of the vehicle. I have never washed this vehicle using an automatic car wash or high pressure hose and don't expect to test this product using either of those methods. This is a large bottle (16 oz) and should last a while and give me several nice coats of high gloss polish on the Corvette.
