    The coat arrived 2 days after I ordered it. I am 5'5" and 160 lbs. I ordered a large and it fit perfectly, with room to put a sweater underneath. The color is better in person. The picture looks chocolate brown but it is more of a sage brown, much better in my opinion, with a soft sheen to it. It is light weight but very warm. I am in love with this coat.

    One morning driving to WAY Upstate, NY with my daughter - we ran into an unexpected blizzard. I saw my daughter's wool coat totally soaked. I knew I had to get her some type of snow coat. After many long searchers I came across this coat, fell in love with it and purchased it. I was a little uncertain if my daughter was going to like it as she hasn't worn a snow coat since early elementary school days (my daughter is now 37 years old) and does not wear any bulky clothing. When my daughter tried on the coat - it fit her beautifully and she looked fabulous in it. As she is a little on the hippy side, I got her a medium which fit perfectly and no bulk at all. With the recent cold, rainy, and snowy weather we have been having in NYC - she thanks me everyday for this coat as she feels absolutely nothing from the cold, rainy, and snowy elements.....Just feeling warm, dry, and comfy.

    I got this coat for a good price on Cyber Monday. It is a nice warm coat but as I look at the photo I am fairly certain when they shot this picture they rigged up something behind the model to sinch in the waist of the coat. I am glad I ordered an XL or a would not have had enough room for my broad shoulders however the bottom half of the coat is quite large. Honestly, it would look better on me with a belt. I would have also liked a 2-way zipper because when you sit in the car the coat rides up. For reference I am 5'8" and 169 pounds.

    I do like the color and the covered zipper and the hood which adds warmth. For the price that I paid I felt it was a good value. BTW, it is only 50% down and 50% duck feathers

    Since I just got these jackets while the weather is too warm to use, this review is about the fit and not yet about the warmth. I will update later when it's cold enough. I ordered these during a sale in 2 colors, Black and Kale. I really liked the sale price so I went for it and bought 2. The Kale color is very different and I struggled a bit with the selection. When received I would say it isn't as brown as it appears on the computer screen. I am still torn on the color but I intentionally wanted something different. I ordered a medium based on the measurements shown in the size guide. I could have gone with a small since I believe those measurements are less than what the actual jacket is. I'm pear shaped so the key factor is the hip measurement because I want to be able to zip and button and still sit. I have plenty of room to do that in the medium. Right now I am not in my 'weight gain' clothes so I will be able to wear this should go I there again. :) I also have a tendency to wear clothes a little big even though I really shouldn't and the medium also fits that habit. If I lose weight, I can see where this may actually end up too big looking but it will still be comfortable feeling. I am 5'3" but not built like a petite so the sleeve length is just a tad long but not bad. It will cover the ends of any gloves and that's what I wanted. There are no storm cuffs at the end of the sleeves so the extra length will be helpful. I was more surprised at how the sleeves fit around the upper arm. That might be the spot where a small may not fit while wearing layers. I don't have fat upper arms but they aren't thin either. I like the length. The faux fur lining on the Kale will need some work to recover how much it's flattened in spots. There is a drawstring in the hood.Read more ›

    The jacket fits perfectly. Nice length - not too long and not too short. Just perfect. Nice color. I bought it in Peal. Lightweight but really warm. It is as good as quality wise as the North Face Transit jacket but without the huge price tag. Highly recommend for the price.

    I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift (London Fog). My wife mentioned several times that her back side was cold with her traditional short coat. So since this coat is longer and manufactured by an older name brand, I bought the jacket on sale. Not only does the coat perform the original purpose of keeping her back side warm, she also loves the jacket too.

    I received this jacket in early December. When I first got it I loved how cute it looked and how well it fit. It was warm and looked great and I was very happy with it. I did notice that the details had been skimped on; for example, it had no inside pockets among a few other things but I was so happy it looked good I decided to keep it anyhow.
    After wearing it for only 3 weeks, the snap ripped right out of the fabric. I am a seamstress so when I inspected it I could tell that it was because the snap was only held on by a thin piece of nylon which comprised the inner and outer shell of the jacket. (For those of you who do not sew, putting the snap in like this would be like trying to hang a shelf on a drywall wall without using any anchors or finding a stud. Obviously, it would rip right out.)
    In addition during the time I owned it it developed 2 small holes in places where the seams put extra stress on the fabric.
    I was so disappointed. London Fog is a good brand that is taking advantage of the fact that people respect their brand and is making products improperly and as cheaply as they can. This maximizes their profit while robbing the consumer of a quality product.
    Lest you think it was just that one jacket, I did order a replacement and sadly all the same issues were there. That one went back as well.
    My thoughts are that the 5-star reviews are from people who haven't owned this jacket for long. When I first got it, I may have rated it high too. It's only after owning it that the issues surface.
