This litter is about as good as it gets as far as having poop in your house.

There is no good place in our house for a litter box, we settled on having it in a nook between our kitchen and dining room. When I say between those rooms, don't imagine this spacious HGTV nook with a cute little cat shape cut out of a wall leading to the cat paradise of a giant poop room. No, it's legit a 2x2ft square hallway that has in-wall cabinets for linens and we walk through there 20+ times a day. The poop is in great proximity to my life.

But this litter is chill, though. The pees don't smell at all, the pine and smelly crystals eat those smells I guess. I'm not a scientist.

You will smell those poops, though. Oh how you will smell them. Our cat is pretty stinky, though. That might just be her problem. She also is just getting good at burying her impressively sized kitten poops. Before this week there was a lot of awesomely stinky unburied poops. This week, though, she's very good at burying them (and not stepping in them!), and Monday I went to scoop her nighttime poop and THERE WAS A WHOLE OTHER SECRET POOP IN THERE. So I guess the smell dissipates after it chills for awhile. I'm not a scientist.

I started out by putting about half of the litter that came in the box in the...box. Then added the last halves quarter by quarter one week after another to kind of freshen up the box. We haven't done a big change-out of litter for 3 weeks though and things are smelling fine (or so I've been told, I don't know what my house smells like, I live there. But I do have mean friends and I believe they would have told me if my place smelled like cat butts).

I have 2 cats and 4 people in my house. I am the only one who changes the litter so I guess you could call me an expert on the subject. 99% of the time I go with pine litters. I have used a couple different brands for my cats over the years, they all seem pretty similar. Recently though I had to use clay litter because it was the emergency bag and I didn't have time to go to the store.
So, clay litter as we all know is terrible. It smells, it's heavy, you have to change it out a bunch and it's gross. Half of my house smelled like a big litter box after a couple days. I was desperate and instead of trying to find the time to make it to the store, I looked on Amazon and found this Ecopine Natural Cat Litter. I figured it would be similar to my other pine litters I have used and decided to order two boxes (thinking one box will last me about a week with both my cats if I was lucky). I have to say, not only is this litter 10000000x better than the clay litter, but it is also better than my usual brand of pine litter! THIS IS NOW THE BRAND I BUY AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE. It's low dust, the cat litter pan smell is GONE and I didn't even get that with my old choice brand of pine litter that I've used for years. The crystals must really work! I clean the litter box weekly and have been using less of this litter for each change because of it's resistance to odor. I love that it comes in a box too, I can buy a couple and stack them neatly away instead of having a big old bag sitting around. I never knew I would be so excited about sharing my opinion about cat litter but, this is a good litter and want other cat owners to give this one a chance if their current litter brand isn't cutting it.

My cat Rocco uses this litter and the other one that has carbon. We like this litter because it is best for my wood floor, so we don't have to clean everywhere after Rocco went to the litter box. This natural cat litter leaves no smell in the garage, of course we clean up Rocco's stuff from the litter box daily that May have something to do with the it.
Rocco is the original test cat for this product, he uses this product for more than 3 years and we are very very happy about it.
We have used other cat litter from Costco and Petco but the result were not satisfactory , we strongly recommend this Ecopine natural cat litter.

We just got kittens. We bought two different non-clumping types of litter: this one and a walnut-pellet litter. The kittens ignored the walnut one, but started using the Ecopine one right away.
I don't know how this one compares to other pine litters, but what I can say:
a) There is no urine smell in the house. We've had our two kittens for about 2 weeks, and split the content of the box into two litter pans. So far, so good.
b) The kittens like it (this may vary from cat to cat). It seems to be soft on their paws, and it is easy for them to move it with their paws.
c) You need to scoop the solids, but it is easy to coat the poop with the pine particles, and then scoop it out, avoiding the poop to get on the scoop.
d) Some litter will get out of the pan (it is non-clumping and the particles are relatively small, compared to clay or pellets). However, it stays within a relatively small radius (most of it is captured by the small towel we have under the litter pan). The rest of the particles are easily vacuumed.

It won't cover the smell of kitten poop, but I've heard this aroma is more potent than the adult cat poop. The silver lining is that we know when cleaning of the solids needs to happen.

Overall, we are very happy with the litter.
