This is a great game. Graphics, and sound are hands down amazing. Alot of these bad d reviews are people that want more of an arcade style race game. This game takes some getting use to, if you go off track or slam the gas after a turn your gonna pay, if you ram and drive aggresive your not gonna make it. You can adjust just about aznything in from graphics to on screen display. I had to lower the AI difficulty at first. after playing for 3 hrs im really enjoying this game. The really nice thing is everything is unlocked from the get go! So there is no grinding required, and that is very nice for us that have to work or have kids, just jump on and race. I see alot of these reviews complain about no rewards, like unlockable cars........... the rewards is winning! I have played a few online races and they also run very smooth, can get a bit messy when the hist has it set to any car, so u have an F car next to a kart, lol, start line can get a bit messy. But the online community feels true so far, what I mean by that is, not alot of rammers, everyone is racing good and fair. The reason i gave it 4stars is due to so of the background sceens/crouds/fields could have looked a bit better, they still look great but, crouds are mostly still pics, and the grass is minimal strands here and there. All in all this is a must have for a true racing fan that loves hitting the track with legit racers or solo. Again this is not an arcade style racer so dont expect to jump over the patch of grass ti take the lead. Again dont listen to some of these bad reviews, if you notice most of them are requesting an arcade racer or a wish list for a game. Review the game as it is! Dont miss out on the game, it is a lot of fun, and a true next gen game.

* No ranking system
* Game has quite a few glitches such as the game freezing during a race when someone enters/leaves the lobby.
* Anti-Aliasing is poor in the PS4 game - you get lots of jaggy lines. Ironically this problem is not on the lower res Xbox One!
* Your scoreboards times don’t always appear. Can't see total best time for all tracks in a class. Can't view scoreboard replays
* Max cars in a race: 16. Limited lobby options. Can’t set the grid order to random or reverse order for example.

Pros
* Realistic handling. More so than Gran Turismo or Forza
* All cars & tracks are unlocked from the start so you don't need to grind to obtain them.
* More tracks than any other console sim.
* Extensive tuning options
* The game won't invalidate your lap time for minor corner cutting such as when you slightly overcut corners by accident.

So those are some brief pros and cons to grab your attention, it’s not a complete list and I’ll expand on that later on.

Finally getting the racing fix that I've needed on the PS4! My wife surprised me with this. She heard me talk about it for months and it has been worth the wait. If you're not a sim fan then this probably isn't for you. Stick with Drive Club or Forza Horizon. It's tough and driving in the rain after you qualified and practiced on dry pavement will leave frustrated...at first. When you succeed in this game you will have a sense of accomplishment. The graphics are top notch as well as the sounds. The track list is bordering on insane in a good way. My only gripe are there are few American cars, nothing from Chevrolet or Dodge. Also no Lamborghini or Ferrari. Otherwise this is an awesome game that will punish you, but leave you feeling fully satisfied when you really get a grip on the different cars handling characteristics and the weather changes. It forces you to tune your cars attributes to succeed. I love it, now I need a good wheel for it.

Racing games are my favorite genre of video games, and I was excited to finally play this game after waiting months and months for it to release. I enjoy arcade style and simulation style games, but I was happy to have pretty much anything for my PS4 at this point. As excited as I was, the game was very surprising to me. It has a Gran Turismo feel with the menus, although it lacks the traditional "ownership" aspects, which is important as this is a different kind of racer. If you are used to Gran Turismo, then this game will still be fairly difficult for you. I consider myself an expert driver, because in other games, I enjoy using manual with few to no assists, but I have not been able to do that with this game.

At some points, I question whether this addiction to realism actually makes a great game. Sure it's pretty and there are tire physics and so on, but I didn't find myself having as much fun as other games. Strictly speaking gameplay wise, this game is amazing, and it's one of the most realistic games I've ever played. The graphics are purely stunning, and the cars move in ways that make it very challenging. The game also has plenty of assists for you to use, such as simulating the rest of a long race if you get tired. This game gets the highest honors in those regards.

But, I must take a star off because the narrative is boring, and almost non-existent, despite the existence of a career mode. If I wanted to mindlessly race in circles, I would just do quick races, but I didn't feel like I was working toward anything in the career mode.Read more ›
