When looking for toys for my 6 week old kitten, I couldn't find many options. Kong had the most. I bought this because honestly I thought it was cute with the bright colors. I did not realize that the body of the toy was a hard cylinder. Since I was looking for something soft and cuddly, I was disappointed. The description said that the toy's hanging tail could be used for play, which my kitten engaged in a few times. But to my great surprise, my kitten quickly figured out that he enjoyed suckling the chenille material on the tail. He had never done this behavior before, but he ABSOLUTELY found it very comforting to knead on a blanket and on the tail while rubbing and sucking the chenille material. It was great to use to comfort him when we visited the vet, and when he was ready to take a nap.
He did not enjoy the rattle sound coming from the hard, tubular body, but I found several other Kong toys that have a chenille tail, but have a soft and pillowy body. I recommend that type more, and even at 10 weeks he runs to his more cuddly/soft toy when he needs comfort or relaxation. But it is good to have this one for back up.

My cats like long, soft toys they can sink their front claws into and kick with their back claws. This looks like one of those toys, but it isn't. The main part of the toy is made of hard plastic covered with a thin layer of fluffy-looking fabric. Can't sink their claws into that! It makes an annoying rattling noise. Even my 9-month-old kitten ignores it.

We have had Kickeroo toys for several years. They have all been the stuffed kind, and our adult cats enjoy holding them and kicking them.
This toy is a stiffer stick (hence the name Stix) with a tail attached. It makes a fun shake noise.
It has been a hit with our kitten. She kicks it, and if you shake it and throw it, it gets her attention.
Would certainly buy again if this one gets worn out.
