I am thumb-challenged. If it weren't for autocorrect, my text messages would be obscene or abstract. The other night, while texting my husband with the dinner plans, I texted that I was making roast Chechen. You get the idea.

I am clearly a woman in need of a stylus. But styluses are kind of a pain in the cyber-butt. They're small, they're unattractive, they don't write on paper, and they get lost.

Enter the Wacom GEN. 3 BAMBOO STYLUS DUO with BALLPOINT PEN. It's better than the average stylus (of which I have lost many.)

"Better in what way?" you ask, Well, since you asked, here are the Top Ten Things That Are Great About the Wacom Gen. 3 Bamboo Stylus Duo with Ballpoint Pen.

10. It's more attractive than most styluses. This one was actually designed.

9. It is nicely weighted. It feels good in your hand.

8. One side is a stylus; the other ide is a ballpoint pen. And, while most of us have rather specific preferences with pens, sometimes you just need something in your hand that writes. This is it.

7. You can draw with it. Though it doesn't do different line weights, it draws smoothly and doesn't skip. It looks as though you were drawing with, well, a ballpoint pen,

The "Wacom Gen 3 Bamboo Stylus Duo with Ballpoint Pen for Kindle Fire, iPad & Samsung Galaxy - Gray" is attractive, light weight, and multi-functional.

I have "fat fingers" and using the touch features of my tablet can be a challenge. No matter how carefully I attempt to touch the box or the highlighted subject, I often get nothing or I get the wrong choice. Suggestions from my spouse did nothing to help - I needed a stylus. However, I often like to take handwritten notes while reading a book - that means using a ballpoint pen. Having both a stylus and a pen on my nightstand meant one or the other was often knocked off the nightstand onto the floor.

The "Wacom Gen 3 Bamboo Stylus Duo with Ballpoint" has helped alleviate my frustration level significantly. I can get to the site or item I choose without fumbling through those that "magically appeared" instead of those I actually wanted. I can switch from the stylus to the ballpoint pen when I want to take notes in physical book.

The approximately 5 1/8" long "Wacom Gen 3 Bamboo Stylus Duo with Ballpoint" is slim and light - it weighs only .5 oz. The rubber tip works well and is much more accurate than my fingers. It is smaller than some other stylus tips making it more accurate when selecting choices on some web sites. A clip allows the user to attach the duo securely to a briefcase or handbag pocket. The fine-point pen comes with black ink; a cap fits securely over the pen's point. The cap does not fall off; you must pull it off.

The cost of this stylus is somewhat high since you can purchase a very good quality stylus - the "amPen Ultra-sensitive Capacitive Stylus" - for about $6. Ballpoint pens are very inexpensive.Read more ›

I got my stylus yesterday. The pen writes well. I am a pen snob and it writes better than most of my ball point pens but the cartridges are the right size for me to have my favorite Pilot refills sent from Japan. The stylus is great. The carbon fiber nib is just like I imagined it. It does not drag unless you have a really soft plastic screen cover. When using glass it is super smooth and I love it. I took it around at work and there are three others that are purchasing theirs this week. It definitely covers the needs. The only thing I would like would be adding some weight to the pen. It is balanced well using either side and it is built well, but it is much lighter than my ideal pen or stylus. 5 stars for a knockout product.

Not what I have expected. I was use to typical rubbery tip round and fat sylus i was using but, this one actually works very well. Sense and response as i write or draw is pretty impressive and could feel the positive effectiveness of cabon fiber tip. I actually wanted to purchase Apple pencil for my ipad pro and couldn't wait 5 weeks waiting period so purchased Bamboo syslus for temp use but, I don't think I will be buying the Apple pencil for $99 and stick with this $13 stylus ( sales price). Unless my intent is to do professional work on my ipad which needs detailed lines, I am content with this item.

Having owned the original Gen 1 Stylus before it unfortunately became dilapidated, I shall compare the Gen 3 to it.
Picking up the Gen. 3, I noticed that it is lighter than the original, which is less comfortable for me, but it's not a big deal.
The pen cap snaps onto the stylus end very firmly, so I am no longer adjusting it to keep the cap from slipping off the pen while I am casually twirling it.
The new textured nib is a lot more responsive on the surface of my iPad and in comparing it to the Gen 1, I am completely happy with how I don't have to press the stylus down to write or sketch anymore. Inversely however, I found that it required more pressure compared to the Gen 1 to get it to register a touch on my iPhone 6. Most people aren't going to be using this to write on their phones though so I do not think that's a big issue.
The writing pen cartridge shipped with the stylus has a finer point and more crisp writing compared to the one that shipped with the Gen 1, though that isn't an issue if you don't like it, you can purchase a relatively cheap replacement cartridge to suit your writing needs.
The removal of the removable pocket clip in the design made the pen look sturdier, and there's no longer a worry that the top bit of the cap will twist and fall off somewhere.
Overall the design has aesthetically improved and it performs a lot better than the original.
