Since most if not all the reviews for this product received it free, through the Vine Voice program, I thought I would add my review, since I actually paid for the thing.

I bought this heater because our old one bit the dust. My son likes to have a little warm air in the mornings when he eats his breakfast before school (we keep our house cool at night during the winter, and it takes time to warm up.) I've been using it as a room heater during cold snaps this fall, instead of cranking up the furnace. Right now it is in my office, and I am quite comfortable. It has an internal sort of thermostat, so if you set it lower than full blast, it will cycle on and off, keeping the room as warm as you like.

It's a nice size, light, and sharp looking. There's no way anyone could hurt themselves with it without a long metal implement and a bit of a death wish. The unit stays cool when operating and it has an ingenious button on the bottom which, if not in contact with the floor or the surface of something, will stop the unit from operating. In other words, if it tips over, it turns off.

I like it a lot. It keeps our tv room nice and cozy and we don't have to heat all the bedrooms and kitchen and office.

Bought the grey one from third party vendor, Casa.com. Amazon only had black at the time. The vendor is located in NJ, and I received my package in two days. Fantastic shipping speed.

The Vornado MVH is everything that people say it is -- it warms up the room differently than an oil radiator or ceramic type heater. It is much more gentle and comfortable, but at the same time, it takes longer -- although not as long as a radiator. I have used both oil and ceramic type heaters before. With those, you'll feel a lot of heat when you are close to the heater, but the heat drops off very quickly as you move away. You are either too hot or too cold -- more so with ceramic than oil. With the Vornado, you'll feel very little heat even when standing next to it. In fact, some may say that the heater is blowing cold air. Believe it. This is how it supposes to work. It circulates a lot more air through its heating element than the other types of heaters. That's why you don't feel the heat. At the same time, the room temperature rises gradually and stays there. You don't feel the drastic temperature variation when moving around within the room.

I use this heater in my home office, which is a small room of roughly 15'x15'. We haven't had a really cold day this fall yet, but I have got a chance to use it once. For my room size, I use the 750w (lowest) setting and keep the thermostat half way (12 o'clock). It reaches a comfortable temperature in 15 minutes, with the door closed. If the door is not closed, this cannot be achieved. The fan noise is not too bad -- no worse than any fan of comparable size, and definitely quieter than my ceramic heater. Can't speak to the longevity of the product yet, as this is my first season owning this product.

Only the best space heater I have every owned. This is an excellent product heats large 855 square ft with vaulted sealings within a few hours to a almost a too warm temperature. Have to turn it down which is possible with all the options. Heats evenly from top to bottom. Wish I had found this last year.

This is an incredibly efficient heater for something so small. We first used it in a large master bathroom and were amazed at how fast it heated up the entire room. It kept moisture from the shower from fogging up the large mirror. When you first plug it in, you think that it is hardly moving any air at all but then you realize how quickly the temperature goes up in the room. It is totally quiet, there is no smell like some small room heaters and it is compact and lightweight. This is the best small room heater that I have ever owned. It is well worth the price.

Very impressive unit. The 10 inch high, 8 inch deep room heater has a 6 foot long cord, allowing for placement in the middle of my den. We have a rancher, with the den at the back of the house, as far away from the thermostat as it is possible to be without being outside. It stays about 8-10 degrees colder in that room, which happens to be the most used room in the house. I have been looking for a heater, and this one definitely fits the bill.

Positives -

The heating coils are fairly deep within the unit. Much safer for the pet owners. I would still cut it off if I had to step out of the room, but I don't have to constantly watch my dog while I am in the den.

The ceramic covering gets warm, but not hot. Again, better for pet owners and those with children.

The unit does cut off if it tilts or gets tipped over. I checked this feature repeatedly, and it worked without fail.

The heater has a very low noise level. I actually had to hold my hand in front of it to make sure it was on.

The Vornado heats the entire room evenly. I have had heaters in the past where you had to be directly in front of it to feel any difference. I have been using the heater in the cool early mornings with great results.

Cons -

I have not found one yet.

Bottom line - I am happy with this product. So far, it has performed exactly as advertised, and fits my needs, while exceeding my expectations. Recommend.
