Quickbooks is not a 1-star product -- it is a functional and useful bookkeeping software that is the defacto standard -- but I can't rate it any higher given that there are atrocious bugs/issues that have not been fixed between the 2014 version and this one.

By far the most aggravating is the autofill "feature" that makes it nearly impossible to get a good workflow of vendor entry going in the Bank Feeds section of the software. The solution from technical support -- who acknowledge that it is an issue -- is to only use the shift key on the left side of the keyboard as it does not trigger the same autofill responses.

Other issues include the bank feed screen requiring refreshes at random times which has the potential to wipe out a whole sessions worth of work (you learn to accept little groups of transactions at a time which is sort of like the "save frequently" lifejacket needed when working with a piece of software that crashes constantly) and an unbelievably bad integration with Chase bank accounts in which the payee for Online Bill Payments / ACH payments gets cut off of the bank feed rendering Renaming Rules useless.

Please Intuit developers, I am begging you: fix these issues. I know you are a smart bunch. I've seen lots of improvements in the online product over the last several years. And there have been some good developments in the desktop version as well. But I have sent you many, many comments and bug reports over the years and still these issues persist.

What is the point? I was told by an Intuit rep this was what I needed, this was the deal. It does not have my bank(s) listed which was the biggest issue for leaving Quicken, although the online version does. AND there is no option to return this although it says 60 day return. I am so frustrated. I should have listened to my accountant who said, NO.

I am adding to my review as this saga plays out. IF I get a response from Inuit I will update.
I started my search to something more robust from Quicken 2013. I subscribed to various QB online products...all with a fee mind you. Then I finally had a chat session and then phone calls with an Intuit rep. They found the perfect product for me. It had a 60 day Money Back Guarantee. Great! I gave it a try. What I got was a product that will not sync with my bank, and offers only .QBO format for downloading. I have two major credit cards w this business and neither one uses .QBO or their "Feed." I spent hours on the phone with my card companies. My bank is a bit old school, so I was not expecting much there, and I was right they do not support .QBO either or their feed.

Now this is where it gets so good. I contacted Intuit for a refund. Heard nothing- day 1. Day 2 I contacted again...nothing. Then I contacted Amazon. Who pretty much told me Intuit was wonderful and they would handle it. AND informed that they would handle it by CHECK!! I did not pay by check and I do not have the time or money to wait on a check. I needed a product...a working product (hence why I spent so much time talking to the reps before purchase)! It is Christmas and year ending. I told someone else this, and I absolutely mean it- I feel like I have been had by a well trained team of shady backwoods used car salesmen.

We upgraded from QB Pro to Premier due to the Unit of measure issue and inventory valuation issue. All of the supporting research does not say that QB is only average costing program. I come to find out that in order to have a true inventory valuation I now need to upgrade to the QB Enterprise edition which costs 4 times the price? And be careful because they have different tiers within the Enterprise edition. I feel that Quickbooks is misleading and they do not properly represent themselves. Question to all - where is it normal that if you have a unit of measure - why you can not pull a true inventory valuation or use an inventory method such as FIFO? No good QB.

Support is ATROCIOUS. Can't get a hold of ANYONE. They direct you to their forums and there are tons of questions that go unanswered. I am encountering one the prevents me from taking advantage of Quickbooks Online and I see numerous others reporting the same issue with no response. Be warned, when it works, it works well, but when trouble arises, they leave you hanging.

Hi Giggity,

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of support that your receiving with your product. There are a few resources that you can refer to such as the Intuit Community( community.intuit.com ) , Little Square ( qblittlesquare.com), and also our social support such as Facebook ( facebook.com/intuit) and Twitter ( twitter.com/quickbooks) . We'd be glad to help go over any concerns that you may have or answer any product related questions that you are looking to solve as well. I'd say that you can get the fastest support from either the social sites or from little square.

To say that QuickBooks is slow and bloated would be an understatement.

If we were not already using QB we would look for an alternative but this will definitely be our last upgrade, watching it work on a small network is painful. The functions are good so no problem there, it has everything we need, its visually attractive but honestly I think you just want to get your work done and when you press enter and wait almost a minute till the cursor comes back so you can continue working is just unacceptable.

I have seen this in the last couple of versions that there is a focus on new features that are glitzy but the core system just gets slower and slower. Forget trying to use it over a remote VPN connection, its just not useable.

I also have a beef with all the advertising, they should either give the license for free and make it ad supported or at least add a setting that allows the ads to be turned off in case others find the ads useful.

Anyways this will be our last version upgrade, time to find a tool focused on increasing our productivity not wasting time on screen refreshes.
