First of all, my Buffalo BD-RE external recorder, which is in fact the Hitachi-LG BH12NS30 drive in the Buffalo USB 3.0 external box, denied to write on these with the Toast 11 Pro (HD/BD plugin bought and installed) thrice, and i began to search for the reason, as i haven't faced such a behavior before (actually because i haven't ever bought faked disks, though).

First i looked at the media info in Toast (see my custom images in the gallery) and found these were far not TDK disks, but some Microboards Tech branded (actually made by other, cheaper manufacturer, which i'll expand further). Then i searched thru the disk pressed label (also in the gallery), saying it's model is CMD1BR6-PA4 (the last three PA4 are about print series), and i've found the media was actually made by CMC Magnetics, which is known as a low-end to mid manufacturer in terms of media quality. They actually do some OEM amounts for the major branded companies, like TDK, Verbatim and etc., but their TDK production is based in China (not in Japan), and i doubt TDK has ordered these from CMC Magnetics. I'm not sure if they are producing some BD-R(E) media for TDK, but the last prove of these are some fake ones "TDK" is the obviously misalignment between white coating and stamped circles (seen on my pics).

According to the seller's description, these are "Original Product packed in spindle cake case", which is proved by the next line, claiming "TDK Genuine MID code", but that is an outrageous lie. So, i believe it's not about any seller's mistake, but counterfeit.
By the way, the seller has responded to previous one star feedback in a fairly aggressive manner, which is neither good business and customer care practice nor a prove of their honesty.

I had high expectation on this blue-rays since I use a lot and was thinking about ordering several because the low price. In my first order 4 discs were undetected by any player in my house so I decided to contact my local TDK for help, they ask me for a sample of the discs so I sent them the remaining 6 to the following address:

TDK U.S.A. Corporation
525 RXR Plaza
Uniondale, NY 11556
(516) 535-2600

After a few days I heard back from them that all 6 discs were NOT MADE by TDK. Instead they were a counterfeit media possibly made in China.

My suggestion to all affected by this is to do the same, call TDK and report this illegal activity.

I was very excited to get these discs in the mail. It said "low error rate" in the description, however that is not the case. I use the first disc out of the spindle and it failed using dvdfab at 2x..... I thought maybe it was a fluke, nope. The second disc failed immediately after putting it in. Of course it burned the smallest little ring which made the disc unusable. I am starting to think that all of the 50gb bdr-dls are just junk. I have yet to come across any that will burn.... Very disapointed in this product considering it is TDK.

These blu-rays spindles in definitely NOT made by TDK, it's rather a homemade item (10 disks taken out from an spindle or other set and putted into this homemade "mini-spindle").

No company produces a 10 disks spindle, 10 packs always came in jewel cases or other formats but not inside a spindle. Spindles are meant for 20, 25, 30 and 50 disks to be used for consumer that needs large quantities.

Looking to the 4 Japanese sellers "carrying this product" my best shot is for Buy in Japan to be the creator of this "mini-spindle" he is probably looking to get the most out of customers returns, so he came out with the idea to fool us. But I am wondering how him were able to create such product with no UPC, JAN, or any original verification of the authenticity of this product???

Can anybody help me please...

I'm a little confused. When I try to record a 40GB movie on this disk, the software tells me that the disk isn't acceptable. I still haven't figured out why.

When I try a 50GB BD-RE, it works fine.

I don't know about all these negative reviews. This is the third time I am ordering these disks. Never had a bad burn because of them. And The second time I ordered I got them much faster than they predicted. I'd 5 star them but I think ALL disks are over priced.

These reasonably priced 50GB blu-ray blanks are reliable and write quickly (or as quickly as can be expected when writing 50GB of data!). Excellent for backups of large audio or video projects and associated working files.

An added bonus is extremely quick (and free) shipping from Japan!

I've been averaging about 1 out of 10 are failing during the burn with these. I got higher quality TDK blanks and have none of those fail yet. I have purchased these about 3 times and that was the failure avg.
