I work at a power plant where I wear earplugs all the time. I wanted a pair of tuned hearing protectors to use for concerts which inevitably are loud enough to causing hearing loss. I was hoping these would attenuate the sound level without changing the quality of the sound, which is extremely important to me when it comes to my favorite music at a concert. At the Florida Georgia Line concert where I tried these the first time, I found that they honestly did not sound any better than just wearing normal 20 cent earplugs. I tried all 3 attenuators and didn't hear any notable difference between the three. Aside from color, I could not visually see any difference in the dimensions, or hole size of the "tuned" sound attenuator. I ended up not wearing them at all for the second half of the concert because they screwed up the sound quality bad enough that I couldn't enjoy the show- so I just opted for hearing loss... to enjoy the 70 dollar ticket I paid for. If you think you want to protect your hearing without paying for real musician's plugs, don't buy these, buy a 100 pack of hunting plugs for 1/10th the price.

I will be looking to buy some real musician's hearing protectors, and these are likely going to the trash if I can't return them.

These earplugs have been amazing. Wearing earplugs reduces the workload on the brain's salience network by reducing incoming sensory input. MRIs show significant structural changes in the salience network in people with a variety of mental illnesses, including autism and schizophrenia. For what I have, my symptoms have been greatly alleviated by wearing earplugs/sunglasses. What's makes these Alpine earplugs so good, is their gold filter option which lets in more of the vocal range. While the foam earplugs I've tried work and I don't particularly struggle to understand speech with them, the gold filters on these Alpine earplugs give so much more "flavor" to to speech and life, while still dampening and blocking enough to keep me from getting overwhelmed. Another great thing, compared to large often colorful earplugs, they're visibly quite subtle. I've never had someone notice them without me first pointing them out. I'm planning on buying another pair or two and distributing them to friends, to see if they have similar results.

I've used these at loud concerts and they work very well. I have small ear canals and the triple-flange ear pieces fit me well. The only things keeping this from being a 5-star review are: 1) the poorly designed cord/clasps that are supposed to connect the two earplugs and 2) the cheap case.
