I recently completed a side-by-side comparison of Energizer ultimate lithium batteries with the eneloop pro batteries. In the zoom H for and, the lithium batteries lasted 12 1/2 hours and the and the eneloop pro batteries lasted 7 1/2 hours. I recorded at 48 kHz and 16-bit in the wave file format with no screen backlight.

Eneloops are the most-consistently high-quality rechargeable battery on the market. I've owned over a dozen brands, and there are always some hit and some miss; not with eneloop. This is my first experience with eneloop pro, and I'm impressed.
Pros:
-The kit is the way to start out with eneloop pro. It's very cost-effective, especially if you catch it on sale.
-The higher-capacity and newer generation technology means more recharge cycles. Though I've not had problems before, this gives me peace of mind that I'll hang onto these for a while.
-The charger is compact and would be great for travel. As a side note, it takes seven (7!) hours to charge AAs.
-They are intended to work in lower temperatures. It is hot here at the moment, but I look forward to testing it out.
Cons:
-They didn't arrive fully charged.
-The case has a flimsy plastic spacer and is otherwise just a chasm. I would love it if it had space for these and additional batteries, but it does not. Thankfully, the case is not my reason for buying them. I would prefer that they either fix it to be useful or omit it and reduce the price by however many cents it cost, though.
Overall, a great buy.

After charging these batteries for the first time, I was ready to swap out my normal batteries in a couple flashlights. Upon sending them down the tube of the flashlight I noticed on the last one that the rim piece of the battery on the bottom was torn. I figured I'd grab a different one, but it was torn too, and came to realize each one was, with only one having a slightly torn bit. I decided not to use them at all, as the piece looked somewhat metallic and I don't know enough about them to say whether it's safe, or whether it's just an outer shell for printing on. They were a gift so I didn't seek out a receipt for them(yet) for possible warranty return or something. Pretty disappointing for something so simple.
Note: This means upon receiving them they were already broken, because there's no way the charging device did this.
