This seems like a very nice pack in most ways but I ran into a few problems with it. First of all, no matter how I adjusted the straps, they way it lays on my back makes the shoulder strap ride up in the front a little bit onto my neck. Next, while the drinking tube from the hydration pack has a really cool little magnetic clip (which worked very well) the actual tube would bounce as you run. My older HPL#20 pack has a clip toward the bottom of the pack which really keeps the tube from bouncing. Next, there is a nice phone pocket on the front of the vest (this is one of the reasons I purchased this particular vest) but when you put your phone in the pocket it, the hard phone sits right on your collar bone which means if your collar bone isn't very padded (like mine) you can't put your phone in this pocket. I don't love that there is no insulation at all where the bladder goes. Water turns warm very quickly but Amazon does sell an insulated sleeve for the bladder http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LY9D742?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
Here's what I loved about the pack: Nathan FINALLY put the raised padding on part of the pack that rests on your back so it allows air to move more freely around your hot sweaty back when running. It is VERY light weight and the mesh part of the pack breathes very well. It looks very nice. It has small adjustable straps to make the pack fit snugly on you back even when filled with water. The side pockets where it wraps from the front to back are very usable and breathable.

I tried the Vaporcloud first and the fit was good but noticeable- When I switched for the vaporair and now I hardly notice its there. My only slight compliant is that I wish it had the waist straps the vaporcloud had. There have been a time or too where I felt the whole vest shift up. I've since tighted and repositioned the chest straps and that has improved the riding up situation.

Lightweight. Sits comfortably on shoulders and does not slide around with 2 front buckles secured. Run with 1-2 liters in the bladder without any problems from sloshing. More comfortable than Nathan hydration belts and do not ride up running up and down trails. Like all of the pockets for nutrition, gels, cell phone, keys, salt tabs, etc. Tried running without the bladder filled and only using the 10 oz quick shot bottles in the front, and it kept on trying to slide forward. Having the bladder even just partially filled balanced the pack much better.

Bladder had plastic taste with 1st use even though I pre-washed both bladder and flushed out tubing with warm soapy water prior to use. Now I put lemon/lime flavored Vitalyte or Skratch without any notice of the plastic taste. Bladder is easy to clean.

Found one that fits!! I'm 5'9 195 last measured chest for dinner jackets 43". I have Salomon 10+3 running vest. orange mudd double bottle vp vest and several running packs and hydration belts. Other than the Nathan vapor air, my belts are limited for duration and heat. The running packs bounce and chaff. So I read the reviews and hardly anyone mention chest "width". I took a chance and purchased this Nathan product and crossed my fingers that it fit. Well it did with a couple of minor adjustments. Took it on the Cactus 2 Clouds trail in Palm Springs,Ca. for a test. loaded the front 2 pockets with camelbak chill 21oz bottles. swapped out the 2litre bladder for a insulated 1.5 bladder and placed 10oz of efuel gel.inthe side pockets and in the back zipper pouch along with 8oz nuts and dried fruit. I ran half of the route to test for bounce and chaff and that did not happen with the adjustment straps as needed. In fact, I hardly felt the vest at all. Only a couple of minor issues, the Velcro that holds the bladder is not strong enough (replaced with a Velcro loop) next the so-called pill pocket is not even water or sweat resistant. Did not test the pole bunges or the outer shock cord. I will purchase the VaporCloud next, because it has a insulated bladder and more storage space. Nathan Did this right, at least for me. It's worth it, gear that works for me.

This is a great hydration pack that's become a must-have piece of equipment in my marathon training regimen. I'm the kind of runner that sweats a lot more than others, so having water on the go is crucial for my long runs. I hate carrying a bottle in my hands, and I think hydration belts look ridiculous, so it was a no-brainer for me to go with the Nathan VaporAir. It's SUPER lightweight--about 9 ounces total without water--so although it may feel somewhat heavy at the beginning of a run if you have the bladder filled all the way, by about the midpoint of the run you don't notice it. In fact, once you adjust the straps just right (I recommend keeping it snug against your body) eventually you don't even feel like you're carrying anything at all, even when it's full of water. The bite-valve on the hose is easy to use, and there's a convenient magnet attached to the hose that snaps right into a corresponding connector piece that you can put on either the right or left strap, depending on which side you prefer to the hose to be on.

It's also got pockets galore, ones large enough to stash and extra shirt, shorts, and socks quite easily, as well as smaller pockets for gels, your cell phone, wallet, etc. I also like that it has a built-in whistle for emergencies. I haven't had to use it yet but if I were ever approached by a fierce neighborhood dog or a coyote out in the woods, this whistle would certainly scare any predator away.

The bladder and hose are somewhat challenging to clean at first, but I found that a simple long-handled scrubbing brush and regular dish soap are sufficient for washing it out. Just be sure to let it hang for a day or two to completely dry out before storing away. I also recommend hanging it right side UP part of the time so water can evaporate more easily. I've noticed this makes a difference.

Overall, 5 stars. A great long-distance running training tool as well as ideal for hiking.
