I like this product, I really do. My shoulder length hair is layered and I tried this spray in the hope that it would give me the piecy look I've seen in magazines. I have to use a curling iron because my natural wave is a bit schizoid and not evenly distributed and my hair is notoriously hard to hold. The first time I used this spray, I used too much and my hair lacked the swingy body I wanted and it was really stiff, so much so I needed to wash it out the next day. I've discovered that it only takes a few sprays to do the job. I can say this spray does control frizz, which is awful where I live (Florida). However, I do use an excellent primer (Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil) so that may have something to do with the frizz situation. I got about 7 uses out of this small size spray (my hair is shoulder length). I use it about 2 or 3 times a week so it doesn't last very long at all. I've tried other LP products and there seems to be no difference between the styling hairspray, the no frizz weightless styling spray and the texture mist. For those with short, layered styles this may work really well or for those who have more natural wave and want the beachy look and don't like the drying sea salt sprays. I didn't get the piece-i-ness and separation I was hoping for, although my hair still looked good . Therefore, I'm rating this spray as just OK (I also took a star off for the price too). The other LP products I've tried definitely worked as well but the price makes them prohibitive. The only one I'd consider buying again is the Restore thermal protection spray, which gave my hair great shine. The texture mist did hold the waves all day. In fact, once I used the right amount, I couldn't feel it in my hair at all. If these products weren't so expensive and the sizes so small, I would perhaps consider using them regularly.

I have very fine hair that easily begins to look flat and greasy with most products. A tiny amount of instant texture mist (which is a bit of a misnomer because it's more of a cream texture) keeps my hair full, shiny and in place.

I LOVE this hair texture product, especially that it is a spray mist. I have very fine, thin, no-body hair. I first ordered the "travel-size" of this, to try it out. The first time I used it on my hair, I sprayed a lot, and it was a little too much, and my hair seemed dry from this product. The 2nd time I used it, I first partially dried my hair (holding my head upside-down, blow drying it)...I just dried my hair partially, then I sprayed the texture mist just on the under-sides (which would be the outer-sides as my head is upside down) and just used it very sparingly. I then took a wide-toothed comb and quickly combed through my hair. Then I completed the upside-down drying of my hair. WOW....I have BODY. When I put my head back up, my hair was slightly standing up completely....and when I brushed it with my boar-bristle brush....wow....and I love my hair. My hair looks FULL. I usually try not to over-process my hair, as it breaks easily, so I just put a curl in the top, and in my bangs, and pulled my hair back into a pony tail, and combed the top curl....wow...my hair is Poofy on the top....first time, ever. So...I just placed an order for the larger size in this product. Very happy with the results!!!

I first tried this as a free sample from Sephora and I really love it. Of all the various gels, texturizers and mousses (or is it "meeses"?) I've used, my hair responds best to this one. I have short hair and put it on dry hair, using only a tiny amount--maybe 2-3 quick pumps. Perhaps those with disappointing results have used too much, or perhaps it's just the fact that we all have different hair and much of this stuff is trial and error. I am completely sold on it, though. When my short hair is not cooperating (which is often) or just looking weird, a spritz of of this mist and I am back in control of the beast. Your results may vary, of course.

I love this texture spray. I have tried others but always come back to the Living Proof brand. It's awesome to use after you haven't washed your hair for a couple of days and don't want to or you are on the run. It gives you the messy look but in a good way. Thumbs up on this product!

There seems to be no difference between the LP texture mist, the flex shaping hairspray and the no frizz styling spray. I got the same results from all three products. The texture mist didn't give me that piecey separation I was hoping for. Although my hair didn't frizz, this spray provides no thermal protection so if you use heat, another product is necessary (I used LP restore spray, which I actually like). I used a curling iron and although my waves stayed all day, there was absolutely no difference in the results from the other LP styling products I've used. So this spray is just so so in my opinion. And this seller is asking almost as much for the travel size as for the full size. And that's another thing: the full size bottle is small. I get about 7 uses from a bottle, which makes it quite expensive. My hair is shoulder length and although this spray is concentrated (I used too much the first time and my hair was sticky) I would have expected the bottle to last longer than it did. I definitely won't purchase this product again. If you decide to take the plunge, buy the full size on Amazon or check out Sephora or the LP website, where the trial/travel size is $14. I have to say that I did get good results from this product but I think I like the No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray better. It's so light that I couldn't feel it in my hair at all and my waves were definitely defined and held up well all day. The Instant Texture Mist didn't hold quite as well. If I repurchase, it will be the No Frizz spray. However, I do recommend the Instant Texture Mist for those with shorter, layered hairstyles and for those who hate the drying sea salt sprays.
