The shipping was fast and the product has a great concept.
I love the colors, the fact that it don't take up much space, it is easier to store that my pan lids. the handle has a great spot to stick these on a hook. Who don't love gadgets that have a multi function like this one? (I have a pineapple slicer/decore and LOVE it, but who has room for all the gadgets that only have 1 purpose) So the fact that this takes up little space plus can be used as a hot pad, a splatter screen, and my favorite a strainer gives it a gold star in my book.
There is a design flaw that leads to all the cons of this product and why I give it a 4 star. The outer ring that gives it support is metal, while I understand that it needs a support ring I think another material that is not a heat conductor would be a better choice. The metal ring/edge as mentioned in other reviews does get hot. I was using it on a skillet and I don't know if the heat is as much from the pan or the fact the nice handles stick over pans and the burner themselves get them too hot. The center is fine, but the handles and edge itself gets hot. Not like picking up straight metal, but after a few seconds you can sense that what ever you doing should be done quickly. ---Also if it was designed with a different edge ring material then it could also be a microwave splatter shield. as it is now it is not microwavable.
Another review mentioned the holes needed to be bigger for straining. I agree that a little bigger would speed up draining, but they are functional and do strain. In fact this is my favorite use for these. the handles fit perfectly with my pans that I can easily grab the lids and pan together to lift and strain out the liquid.Read more ›

I feel like I am always cooking or baking something and never have what I need on hand. I like the fact that these silicone screens can be used for a variety of needs and fit many of the cooking pots, pans, and baking bowls I have.
The colors are spot-on with red and black; both of which I love and I can say almost all my small kitchen appliances and gadgets are one of these two colors.
Silicone & metal:
I stretched them as much as I could and received no white straining lines; hence, FDA approved silicone.
Easy to clean; even when draining vermicelli none of them got stuck and I just rinsed it clean.
11" diameter fits a lot of pots and at least one pan; would love to get a bigger one for my big frying pan.
Uses:
Steaming vegetables as a vent cover
Boiling as a vent cover
Grease splatters; we all hate them and with these I actually didn't get those pesky little burns
Strainer; I can strain vegetables, pasta, and meat right in the pot and/or pan
Trivet ~ I can never have enough of those and they never seem to be within arms reach
Now I don't have to worry about my towel dropping into the dough when using yeast and letting it rise; I can put one of these silicone lids on top then a towel and problem solved with helping it rise.
While I cannot attest to the 450° heat resistance I have had zero issues with the silicone getting too hot nor even coming close to melting.
As for the metal ring rim and handles; it is metal so, yes, it does get hot.
