Product Description

Most trail running socks are simply dark colored running socks with no specific "trail" features built-in. The Drymax Trail Running socks are the exception. To help prevent dirt from getting inside Drymax Trail socks, Drymax did not include vents. In addition, the socks' double welted leg has extra padding around the ankle. This extra padding protects the leg, and seals the top of the shoe to keep out dirt & debris. The Dual Layer Moisture Elimination System actually removes sweat, sweat vapors, and water from the skin through the inner Drymax fiber layer to the outer absorbent layer. The double welt top is made of Drymax fibers to repel water, so when a runner splashes through a creek, the top of the socks stay dry. Drymax Trail Running Socks are a Medium + Density protective padded sock. Dense padding is used, as opposed to thick padding, as it protects feet without adversely affecting the fit of the shoes. The Trail Running Socks were designed for use in cool to warm conditions, keeping feet dry, comfortable and odor free all day long. Drymax's five sock sizes fit because they were developed on special 3D shaped foot models. Each size sock includes a (S, M, L, XL, or XXL) color size mark for easy match-up after laundering. Construction features include seamless insides and an instep-hugging arch band. MicroZap antimicrobial in the Drymax Fibers fights odor-causing bacteria, helping keep socks odor free. Not a topical treatment; MicroZap is molecularly infused into Drymax fibers. Being non-migratory and non-toxic, MicroZap provides long term Active Odor Control. Content: 65% - Drymax/Olefin 20% - Polyester 8% - Nylon 7% - Elastaine. Sizing (Shoe Size): S: 3.5-5.5 (Men's), 5-7 (Women's); M: 6-8 (Men's), 7.5-9.5 (Women's); L: 8.5-10.5 (Men's), 10-12 (Women's); XL: 11-13 (Men's), 12+ (Women's); XXL: 13.5-16 (Men's).

I recently wore these socks for a 12+ mile Spartan BEAST race. Did they keep my feet dry? No. I would have had to wear bags from old loaves of bread around my feet like my mom used to make me do in the winters back in the day... There are no dry feet in a Spartan Race. These socks did keep my feet comfortable and completely blister-free. I was SHOCKED. I'd forgotten to apply Trail Toes lubricant on my feet--but these miracle socks hugged and nurtured my little piggies all the way home!

I certainly hope this was "helpful to you". If not, click YES anyways!

I normally get the '1/4 Lite' but they did not have any Large on site at time.

As result picked these up and loved them even more. The material is slightly heavier but i can already tell durability on these are better. The 1/4 Lite ones i was getting frequently after much use would rip at stitchings where ankle is. Now i still loved those and we are talking about tons of miles on them so I am not downgrading them as I loved them till i got these. These are beefed up a little more.

Now with little more material/stitching/etc I would suspect a world class runner might not prefer them but for a 44 yr old recreational trail runner out to survive runs as opposed to win them they work excellent.

As with Drymax tradition they do excellent job of slowing down moisture saturation, due to thicker material even longer then the 1/4 Lite model. Realize though that nothing is truly water resistant and these on long runs and or heavy rain do hold moisture eventually. But the period of time to get to that point far and away exceeds any other brand i have ever tried.

Wore these for a mud run. Although your feet are submerged in muddy water, these socks were pretty thick and gave me some good padding and wicked the water away while drying off. When hiking these socks are great. Kept my feet warm in the fall hikes.

Without wasting words these socks are excellent. I run outdoors every day, which is a challenge. Dealing with the elements is a science unto itself. Finding the correct running shoe is a quest all serious runners resolve by trial and error, so what about socks? Standard answer; it depends. The surface, indoors or outdoors, weather, etc. Personally I have found many socks that are "comfortable", while not effecting the fit of the shoe. But what about when you encounter WATER? The best socks typically wind up chafing at your feet leaving painful blisters in locations you did not know existed. One of the reviews on these socks written by avid runners who often uses "goo" to protect their feet, said after a 12 mile run without goo, despite streams and puddles, NO BLISTERS. That was enough of an endorsement for me. I purchased two pairs. Upon arrival I was impressed with their manufacture, quality, fit and technology which was used for their design. When I first put them on, I regretted not having purchased them sooner. They added unprecedented comfort to my already comfortable running shoes, especially noticeable when running on a cement surface. These socks made a recent 5K run so much easier to do. Finally, while running one day, the sky opened and it poured. Despite my best attempt to navigate clear of large puddles there was no avoiding them. For the better part of 4 miles I hit major puddles with both feet and heard the all too familiar "squish" and the accompanying sponge sensation. Within a matter of a dozen or so steps, no more squish or sponge sensation, in fact of my shoes felt no different than normal. In almost no time I encountered another puddle, same results. I could not wait to see what my feet looked like after running in the rain. My feet were fine!Read more ›

These are my favorite drymax socks. Got them for several people as christmas gifts. As the directions state, washing the socks in fabric softener will ruin the socks. this happened accidentally and they really do function differently and feel like dried soap. This is not a problem with the socks though, they clearly state not to do this.

I wanted to love these socks. They felt very comfortable when I put them on. But they are VERY thick. I noticed in the middle of my 9 mile trail run that the mesh of my shoes was largely damp. It wasn't raining, turns out the socks were definitely wicking a whole lot of sweat! Granted, it was a nice day and perhaps these socks are best reserved for colder, wetter conditions. I'll probably buy the lite pair and see if I like those better.

I've worn the socks one time so far, and they fit comfortably, feel comfortable, and seem to be of good quality, except for one defect that makes me think these are seconds. On one sock there is a diagonal slash about 1" long, as if there was an unplanned cut in the sock and someone repaired it with a heat iron or glue. I'm not sure if that is possible, but that's what it looks like. The defect is on the outside only, does not go all the way through to the inside. I did wear it the one time and the damaged/repaired spot did not separate, but only time will tell if it will hold up. I choose not to return it, but to wait and see what happens. Didn't spend enough on it to care to do the whole return/replace thingy.
