Very high-purity 97-99% KOH. Make sure when you use online "soap calculators" that you use one that can compute recipe for pure KOH instead of the more usual 90% product. And, as always, read up very thoroughly on how to handle lye and also about the soap-making process in general -- any time you use lye you must remember how dangerous it can be.
