Extremely easy to use. No real special tools required EXCEPT a die to cut the holes. The holes on these are 3/8". I used them to add locations on a car cover (with the use of bungee cords as well), to secure my car cover during greater than light winds. Most car covers will blow off in a moderate to high wind. I marked the cover in the appropriate places, and sandwiched the cover between felt (next to the car finish) and marine grade vinyl (on the outside of the cover). This makes 3 thicknesses of material. I bought a die to cut the holes through these areas of the cover.
These grommets were snapped in place with the gentle blow of a rubber mallet. They work beautifully. Seriously great value too. I shopped on line for grommets and these were the least expensive I could find. A lot of grommets are metal and used for heavy duty use on tarps etc. That type application was not needed for a car cover and these were the perfect solution.
