This may be ham, but it isn't from any part of a pig that can be discussed. In fact it's discuss-ting. I bought it because I grew up in the Midwest as a kid eating canned ham on vacations. It was delicious and made great sandwiches. DAK "ham" is a greasy, congealed mess of something unmentionable. Even Spam is better tasting and less fatty than this DAK product. RECOMMENDATION: Stay as far away from it as you can. I'm tossing mine. I won't even feed it to my dog, because I love my dog. DAK "ham", not so much.

We used to buy these when they came from Denmark, Holland, etc. The flavor is just as good as ever. Any canned ham has fluids added, which makes it even more tender. If you hate spam, don't bother trying to like this.

Compare it to the photo on the label of the product can. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is
nothing but chunks of fat pressed together with chunks of light and dark meat. Has a grey, off-color
appearance. VERY salty, does not hold up well when heated; turns to mush. I'm especially befuddled
because I lived in Europe for five years and I am used to high standards in European foods. I was
expecting something similar to the Dubuque canned ham my mother used to purchase when I was a
child. Instead, I received something which tastes and cooks worse than SPAM.
