At $119 it is a good value. It only comes with a VGA cable, fine for use with text. I am still trying to find the best brightness/contrast setting, the defaults are quite bright for use with text, but can be turned down. There is no explanation in the quick start or on Acer's site as to what the bluelight control does. If you use it, it blows away any brightness or contrast setting changes you made. At 50% it turns the screen yellow. Above that, it changes the screen but I cannot tell what it is doing.

A number of people have mentioned a wobbly base, OI have not found it wobbly, but I use a keybpard tray, and look at the keys when I type. I was able to adjust the tilt to be what I needed.

I hate the control buttons under the screen, could not even find them at first. Awkward, and they need need enough force to push that the lack of leverage is annoying. I guess this is the price for their being almost no bezel, which is not a favorite feature either. But neither affect normal use of the screen.

I got this monitor when it was in sale. It was only 119.99 and I'm happy to say that this was a great buy. I was a little uncertain of getting this monitor at first since it's a VA panel but it's still great but it doesn't have the viewing angles an IPS display may have. The screen is matte and is great if you have a lot of light in your room. It has all of the necessary ports in my opinion. It has hdmi, dvi, d-sub, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This monitor does not have vesa support although and has tilt.I choose this monitor because this one has hdmi so I can use it with my Xbox 360 or any gaming counsel at that, that supports hdmi. Overall this is a great monitor if you can get it for a discounted price.

Purpose: Needed a monitor for using with my laptop.
Positives: The bezel is very small. The setup was easy. The connectors are on the back and come out perpendicular to the screen which makes it easy to connect and see what you are doing. The display menu buttons on the bottom aren't awkward for me as some reviewers stated. The tilt range is pretty big (my guesses: ~2 degrees down, ~6 degrees up). Inexpensive for the size.
Negatives: Because of the connectors (see Positives) this monitor could not be flush mounted easily. It wobbles with only slight desk motion. The stand has no height adjustment. The back panel on the monitor doesn't feel securely attached (when I grab the monitor I feel the back panel move while the side is solid).

lets see, where do i start?! Well i got this monitor brand new for only 119, And i am very pleased! It took me a while to get the picture settings to my liking, but when i finally did,it was worth it. I have it hooked up to my ps3, and im using the Grafics preset, and made some slight adjusments.. The picture is very clear and provides awesome detail. No kidding! This monitor is a steal.

Purchased a new PC for a family member and bought this monitor. Beautiful picture, plug and play.

***** NOTE that it does NOT come with an HDMI cable - NO USB ports, and NO built in speakers. *****

This is simply a plain old monitor with no other bells and whistles. If that is what you want (and expect as I did), then this monitor could be the perfect fit for you.

I recently had a customer PC built and was looking for 2 monitors so that I could dual screen. I was looking for a product that would allow me to use DVI and HDMI. I purchased 2 of the Acer G247HL because it allows me to use both the DVI and HDMI ports that I have on my computer. At the price it was when I purchased it, I found it to be a great value and investment. My monitors can with a VGA cable however I will not be using it. When I customer built my pc, it was for gaming purposes and I want the best quality picture I can get for the money I am spending. Once set up, the screens fit onto their base properly and I haven’t noticed any wobbling that others have mentioned.

Pros:
Excellent Size for Gaming or Everyday Use
Very Thin for what matters the most
VGA, HDMI, and DVI hook-up
Reasonably Priced
Sleek and Stylish
Picture has astounding quality

Cons:
The buttons on the bottom make it hard for navigating
No Vesa holes in the back for mounting. The only way to mount these is to buy a special mounting bracket that is quite expensive.

This is a wonderful monitor. I looked everywhere for a sleek framed screen and this is it. The borders are very tiny this makes for a better multi screen setup. The three ports on the back allow you many options on how to set up. I found that using the build in vga cable supplied with the monitor, the image looks almost identical to my hdmi that is on my main monitor. I can't believe the price on these things. I got one for 120 because it was "used" from the Amazon warehouse. The description said that it was listed used because the box/lot may have been dented. Mine was not. Buy these now!

The Good
1- Very thin in every way that counts. (front to back and the frame)
2- Three hookup options!
3- Cheap
4- Stylish
5- The picture is an A+

The Bad
1- The buttons are on the bottom of the screen and can be hard to navigate.
2- You can't quite put these together at an angle so that they surrond the user. The frame at the bottom juts out a bit and leaves a gap between the monitors. I've considered sanding these down as to achieve a flat connection but have not yet done so.
3- Not really sure how to work the audio port in the back. (not really a con but it bugs me.)
4- NO MOUNTING OPTIONS!! There are no Vesa holes on the back so forget getting a fancy mounting bi/tripod thingys that share a common base. [Okay, so you can mount these but you will need to buy a special mounting bracket that fits into the bottom of the monitor. They cost about 30 bucks a pop.]
