I think that this product is good. I have been using it for a couple months now and have gotten used to it. I will start with the packaging. The packaging it came in was really good and i could tell it was quality. It came in a nice box and had accessories in it. Once i opened it I found weights, instructions, a secondary palm rest, and logo stickers. The only problem was that the weights didn't come with a container to put them in.
The mouse itself is very good. I like it a lot. The right and left mouse keys are solid and the mouse wheel has a nice click to it. The mouse wheel is different than Logitech mouse wheels as it does not have the button to keep the mouse wheel spinning and the Logitech mouse seems to be more free spinning in general. The mouse wheel is more stiff and is very exact where you are spinning it to, there will be no mistake on where u spin the mouse wheel to. The featured aluminum core makes this mouse seem lighter but i cant say for sure. The sniper button is very useful and the angle that it is at is very handy. I have tried the Logitech Proteus core and found the sniper button on that to be kinda out of the way. the side buttons are basic according to gaming mice. the button on the top, next to the left mouse button is very useful if you use some kind of communication software like team speak or vent. The weights are kinda unnecessary and don't really do much. the palm rest adjuster is nice and is helpful. the rubber grips on the sides of the mouse are nice too.
The software on the mouse is great. I found it easy to use and that it is very customizable. all the buttons an the mouse can be changed to what ever you what (even the left and right mouse buttons). The sniper button is not preloaded onto the mouse so you will have to do that through the software.Read more ›

The Cougar 700M has some good features, but I am writing this review because of the problems that I encountered with the first mouse product that I have purchased from this company. I am not a big fan of the "Transformer' appearance of the mouse, and that is not why I bought it in the first place. I wanted a mouse with high precision that had good placement on the buttons. In general I like the button layout on the 770M, and the feel of the mouse in your hand is good. I don't like the deep grooved surfaces on the left and right sides, they do not need to be that textured, and they tend to pick up dust and other debris over time. They are also hard to clean because the grooves are relatively deep and very narrow. The braided cord also tends to pick up dust and lint over time. The software is good, and gives you lots of control over the mouse setup. You get 4 settings for different dpi/sensitivities.

Now for the problems. After about 5 weeks of normal use (no dropping or other issues that might have affected reliability) the left mouse button started performing "double clicks" when only a single click had been made. At first I did not pay too much attention, but it began to happen more frequently, often while working on a spreadsheet or when selecting files from a folder. So rather than selecting a file or folder, the file or folder would open. I would go to select a cell in the spreadsheet, and instead it would go into text editing mode while I was trying to do a "Ctrl-C" to copy the contents of the cell. As this happened more and more, the mouse became less and less usable, and very frustrating.

This mouse is the best one I have ever used. It is sold as a gaming mouse and it is a terrific one for sure but as a general purpose mouse it is outstanding. This is the smoothest, most comfortable mouse ever. It looks wild and has more adjustments possible than imaginable.The build quality of the mouse is stunning. I don't know how they could use such expensive materials and machining for anywhere near this price.
I also bought the Cougar 700K keyboard and together they are splendid. The software offers many integrated functions between mouse and keyboard. Both items are the best I have ever seen. Very high-end product.

Great Mouse for the price. there are some bits n peaces that i dislike. some might kall it nit picking. i was thinking i was making a purchase where i would have a better product then what the price is worth. but its only slightly better then the price. if u r still with me ill list some cons

Cons:
1) "Light Weight", even with the added weights.
2) "Metal Frame" Docent seem like it is metal. looks grainy. like the metal would break not bend. like that concrete covered in metal coating. (Is what it seems like) I dont actually know. just giving u the feel it gave me.
3) "Plastic" isn't the highest quality.
4) "Cord Rope" seems cheaper, i dont think its a pera cord.its too soft. i had an old Razer mouse with the same cord rope n it came apart very easily. Wore out fast. AND the base were it connects to the mouse. has a gold metal thing that sticks out connecting to the mouse. i thoght it was gonna be a fatter barrel. but it was thinner then i thought, n it dose bug me. feel like it was a but fatter, it would look higher quality in my opinion.
5) LED i downloaded the software from the site. reall easy to use. the thing is, i have a white LED light Key board. and the white option on the mouse comes out like a rainbow color. like its shining threw a crystal and alot of colors r shining out. not reall white. so i just have it off. i dont use the LED.
PROS:
1) Works as specified
2) NO lag
3) On the fly DPI change is great. i keep it at level 2 for regular use.
4) Scroll wheel is perfect. catches every click. (Dont like the gold framing around it though)
5) LOVE the Upper right Button lip by the Left click. so useful n handy, find myself using it alot.
6) Adjustable palm rest on back. works great.Read more ›
