It appears to be sturdy. The zipper works, so I could pull out some of the stuffing to lower it a bit. This zafu is stuffed very full. I was surprised at the kapok stuffing. It looked like cotton batting to me, but photos of kapok online show that's what kapok looks like.

This greatly limits your quality of meditation. Having a straight back, properly supported, is extremely important for meditation and you can't get that with this product. Though the cushion is hard, it is too springy and that force greatly hinders the comfort and your overall ability to keep a straight back effortlessly. I have used good cushions that had a cotton product instead of the reliable buckwheat style, but they had a firmer shape without the springiness of this product. Furthermore, the stuffing was uneven and was too compact to fix it. Trying to move the inner filling to make it even was very difficult because the Kapok gets everywhere and sticks to everything. If meditation is a serious practice for you I really suggest trying a buckwheat fill with an inner lining with the largest size possible. Though i don't dislike the brand, i do very much dislike this product. I was very disappointed with it. I do single pointed meditation on average 2 hours a day and i could barely make it 20 minutes with this guy, having to put cushions around it to keep it somewhat supportive.
